Jaime Antonio Amaya presents the history of the Community of Nuevo Gualcho in the book.

This was once in a small country called El Salvador that lived a war that lasted twelve years of an armed conflict, where children, adults and the elderly from different areas of the country died.

It is one of the oldest farms in El Salvador. It is a place that served as a refuge for Francisco Morazán in full combat. It sheltered thousands of people who were exiled from their homes in the civil war. Anyone would think his courage would count to his rescue, but Gualcho's story falls apart in the present.

Gualcho was thought of as a medieval fortress. An immense farm with impassable walls, a high wall built with rocks on its perimeter and on one of its sides, a 15-meter ravine at the bottom of which there is a river. Gualcho was thought of like this, as a medieval fortress, in the arid north of the department of Usulután. Away from everything and everyone.

Since then, little by little, the Gualcho ranch deteriorated until the roof completely collapsed and now every rainy season undermines its walls.

Nuevo Gualcho, a community that is made up of people who practice social organization a lot, the organization has led them to achieve many triumphs throughout the history of this community within the community there are people who have different capacities installed and skills among them there are people who are carpenters, tinsmiths, masons, musicians, painters.

Nuevo Gualcho is made up of humble, hard-working, honest and above all fighter people, those who in these 28 years of life, have had to go through great trials, fight against the current to see important projects achieved in favor of the community.

For ten years, these families, like many others nationwide, had to seek refuge in Honduras, due to the persecution they faced by military force in the eighties.
The return of these families was recorded on March 5, 1990, that is why with great joy they celebrate this date to share their story with their sons and daughters.

"We are happy because we are going to celebrate one more anniversary, because we deserve it, we invite other communities to visit us on our anniversary because a date like this is not celebrated all the time.

Blood only makes relatives, but love for others makes them brothers, and Nuevo Gualcho is more than a community, it is a family.
