Hi, I’m Gloria. I’m a 11 year old girl and I live in Madrid. I am writing this book to tell you some things that happened to me that I don´t understand.
CHAPTER 1. CHILDHOOD

I love playing football with my neighbours but I only play when they need more players. They don´t usually let me play because they don´t want a girl in their team.

In my school, sometimes they make fun of me because of my hair. I have short brown hair and I love it because it is beautiful and confortable, but some of my classmates laught at me because "I look like a boy".

I don't understand why having longer hair make you look like a girl but maybe I should let it grow so I can stop hearing those comments. It hurts my feelings.

Other times they laugh at me because of my clothes. I usually wear big clothes because they are comfortable. However, my classmates tell me that I should wear dresses and skirts because I’m a girl. I don’t like that kind of clothes because I normally see the boys putting the girls’ skirts up.

One day I told that to my mother and she said.
Don’t worry my dear that’s a child’s game. And you know what? sometimes that means boys like you and think you are pretty.

CHAPTER TWO. ADOLESCENCE
Hi again! Now I am 15 years old and I am in highschool. I have grown and I still don’t understand our society. I have seen many wrong things during this years that makes me scared. I will show you some of them.

One night, when I was coming back home a boy started following me and calling me bad names. I was so terrified that I hid behind a car until he disappeared. Then I ran to my house.

Another thing that has caught my attention is when my “friends” started criticising my clothes, the things I do, my hairstyle, etc.

She wears boys' clothes.
She plays football
Sometimes I feel girls pay more attention to your physical appearance than boys. It makes me sad because I think we should help each other on those things instead of fighting on who is the prettiest for the boys.

Hello! Now I am 25 years old. I am here again because I want to tell you some things that happened to me during these years.
CHAPTER THREE. YOUNG AGE

First of all, my girlfriend Sofía introduced me into “feminism" which is a social movement that fight against machismo. She and I are members of a feminist organization that helps women to get the same rights as men.
