While this is an assignment for school I want to say thank you to my boyfriend who pushed me to get the help I needed with my anxiety. Anyone dealing with anxiety or anything at all, I am always here to talk to if you want.

Anxiety is hard sometimes. It makes you feel like you can't think straight and sometimes you find yourself to overwhelmed to clean the sink of dishes, vacuum, do homework, or simply shower. I have been there too and I wanted to show you some of the things that have helped me when I am feeling anxious.

My favorite thing to do is sit on my balcony around my flowers, herb garden, and succulents in the early morning before the world has gotten loud. I don't always get to do this because of an early class, or sleeping in, so when I am starting to feel stressed about something I will go on a nature walk, go walk around a nursery, or sit on my balcony watching my flowers.
I can not speak for everyone but when I am stressed I am ever more grateful for my fur babies. Personally I have two cats, Arthur and Oscar, and yes not everyone has cats or likes cats but if you have the desire and ability to care for an
animal I can say there is nothing less relaxing then just holding your pet when feeling overwhelmed.
If you are unable to own a pet due to where you live or you can't/don't want to care for a pet yet still want something to hold when feeling anxious, get a stuffed animal. Yes it sounds juvenile but it is surprisingly stress reliving when you can grab a stuffed bear, penguin, or unicorn and scream into it and squish it when curling up around it.

I am by no means a video game expert and if I ever play friends in MarioKart I almost always lose but there are video games that help relax me. Personally I am a sucker for Animal Crossing and any Lego game but what type of game it is isn't the part. Playing a video game that you find enjoyable can be a way to not only de-stress but also a way to laugh and boost serotonin levels. This is also something you can do with friends if you so choose.

If playing video games is not your style might I recommend watching a video gamer on Youtube or Twitch. When I can't sleep and my brain keeps coming up with things to overthink I like to watch a YouTube by the name Markipler, specifically his Minecraft videos. I don't not play Minecraft but the combination of the soothing music, his voice as he explains what he is doing, and the simplicity of the game is all very calming.

If video games in any format is not for you then watching something ASMR can help when your brain doesn't want to shut off at night too
