Finish the story. Use at least one simile and one metaphor on each page.
Make sure you vary your dialogue tags (i.e. don't just use said) and make sure everything is in the past tense.
Try to avoid reusing words like 'said' and 'and'.

Once upon a time, there was a family of rats. Jake, the hero of the story, wanted cheese for his family. They lived in a mouse hole in a human house. They had a dirty kitchen made out of wood with tall windows. There was honey and juice that had fallen all over their floor. It was as messy as a forest. The rat hole was a smelly skunk.
He said, “I will get some cheese. Wait here. I will be okay. Don’t go go out.”
He sneaked as fast as a ninja until he was in front of the fridge. When the boy opened it, he went inside.

“Time for fish and chips,” the boy said. Jake was ready. He was going to feed his family. The boy went to the toilet. By the time Jake had stolen most of the stuff in the fridge, the boy found the hole and fixed it. Jake could not find his way home. He needed to go home and show how much he got. Jake has stolen most of the stuff in the fridge and he was freezing . He was a freezing iceberg. He should be quiet or he will be caught. He was as quiet as a owl.

“I have found the way to escape! Let's go and bring the food!” Jake shouted.
“Are you sure?” his wife said. He stole a jackhammer from a building site and held it up to their home, making a big bang. Everyone in the city found him and panicked, thinking he would spread plague. They were running, as crazy as monkeys.
On the news, the president said “We got this under control don’t panic.” But the president didn’t have this under control! Jake did the wrong thing! He made a disaster! He was as dangerous as a lion!
He had to go back to his home but there were mousetraps surrounding his rat hole. He thought that he could do it but he was as scared as a cat. He bounced on the mouse traps. He was as smart as a fox, but he had to do it again. He tried but he nearly fell. His family saved him.
He was an unlucky rat. He needed to do it one more time but people were placing mousetraps everywhere. Jake needed to escape. He tried to go through the traps. He had some cheese and ate it. He was walking around with his family and went to find a new home. He was as fast as a monster truck
