THE LEGEND OF PAMUKKALE

Pamukkale, which has hosted many civilizations for centuries, is one of the most important tourism centers of Turkey with its unique appearance and traces of history on its territory. These waters, which heal many visitors with their thermal waters, create a visual feast with the travertines they form. Pamukkale, which takes this name with its whiteness and cottony appearance of its travertines, welcomes millions of local and foreign tourists every year.

Pamukkale is one of Turkey's tourism paradises with its 'cure-all' healing waters and travertines. Pamukkale, which is on UNESCO's 'World Cultural Heritage List', where nature and history meet, is one of the alternative centers for sea tourism in Turkey. Pamukkale, Denizli's window to the world, hosts over 1 million local and foreign tourists annually with the visual richness offered by travertines.
My students researched the legend of this beauty.

People have been telling the story of the beautiful woodcutter for hundreds of years. I'm not going to break the tradition either. Long ago, there was a poor woodcutter family living on the skirts of Çökelez Mountain.

The daughter of this family was so ugly that the mothers of the boys changed their ways when they saw her. She didn't care about her poverty, but she was obsessed with her ugliness. He left himself to the void from the skirts of Çökelez Mountain.

He fell quickly into the pool full of water and sediment. Here he was unconscious in the water for a long time. At that time, this water drowned that ugly girl in beauty.

Denizli Bey's son, who was passing by, saw the beautiful girl covered in blood. He took the woodcutter girl to his horse and took her home. The girl recovered and they got married. After that day, women started to visit these hot springs to be beautiful. All women who want to be beautiful this day throw themselves into this water.
