                           A little Bookworm

       Advenny  lives in a small town,Gimpo in the South Korea.She is 13 .She likes reading book very much.She always spends time by reading book and daydreams about the cities in her books.She carries her book everywhere and goes on reading the adventures in the books.

      She is also a very lonely girl because she has no friends. She has never gone out of her town

In her room,there are lots of books,maps and flags.Her big dream is travelling around the world and making friends.

I'm bored with my lonely life.I can change it.I want to discover the world and make friends.I read lots of books and learned many things about the world. I can take a journey to the places in my books. Yes I can do it! I feel very excited.

She feels selfconfident and adventurous

She looks at the map on the wall and decides to start her journey with a country tour. She should see the beauties of Korea firstly. 

The first destination is the capital city of the South Korea.The next morning, She walks to train station. She is very happy. Because her dreams will come true.  

I' m sure there are lots of amazing places in Seul. It is bigger and more crowded than my town.Maybe I can find friends and adventures there.

She gets on the train to go Seul.It takes 4 hours.The scenery is amazing.She feels free and happy.She is on the road of her dreams

When she arrives at Seul,it is nearly night.There are big skyscrapers and lots of light in the streets.She feels shocked and emazed but never frightened.She finds a motel and spends the night.She should be energetic for adventurous Seul tour.

How big and wonderful!

Adwenny gets up early and starts her Seul tour with a visit to Seul Tower.She knows it from one of her travel books.It is the highest point of Seul.Adwenny goes there by bus.She wants to climb the tower.Because,She wants to see all the places in Seul. But she falls down.The policeman comes and looks at her angrily.She doesn't understanf anything.She just wants to climb and see all city.

You can't climb it.You must wait for the opening hour.Then you must use stairs!!It is dangerous.I can arrest you!!!

I'm sorry ,please forgive me.I didn't know.I will wait for the opening hour and use stairs.

After opening time, she goes up the stairs of the tower and see the amazing scenery.She thinks It is more beautiful than the book.Now ,she should see the great palace,Gyeongbokgung.She can walk there.It is very near city centre.Advenny knows it from her adventure books.It is very famous palace.Advenny always  dreams to visit it.

When Advenny arrives at the palace,she is tired. But the palace is fascinating. So she wants to enjoy the moment. It is the biggest palace in the South Korea. There are lots of tourists. She wears traditional clothes ,hanbok like other tourists. She watches some traditional dance show in the garden. Everybody smiles her. She can make friends here but how? It is difficult. Everybody is smiling but doesn't talk to her. She thinks ' I should go to a different country. I can see more beutiful cities and make good friends. But she should eat meal, first.

Yummy! I like BULGOGI. It is my favourite. After I eat my meal, I can get on the ship and go to Japan.

I feel great. I enjoy the day and moment. I see beautiful places like in my books. I want only some friends with me.  

She walks to port and get on the ship for Japan. She is excited to discover new places. She will meet new friends, live new adventures. 

Advenny comes to Tokyo, the capital of Japan, on a sunny day. The weather is nice and Advenny is very happy. First, she decides to search the Net and find some tourist attractions to go.

She sees a very big park of Tokyo on the Net. The name of the park is Ueno and she decides to go there. Because the pictures of the park are awesome.

When she reaches the park, she feels tired, sits on a bench and reads her book.  Then she goes around the park and when she gets closer, she notices the stunning beauty of the famous Japanese cherry trees and their flowers. She decides to take a flower from a tree as a remembrance.

Just as she is picking a flower, a girl approaches her and says: 'Hey! What are you doing??' But, it is too late.... The flower is already in Advenny's  hand.

A park warden recognizes the event and runs towards the girls. When Advenny and the girl see the park warden, they try to run away. The girl is very angry with Advenny and she says:' Don't you know that it is strictly forbidden to pick flowers from these trees!!! These trees are the symbol of our country and they are going to punish us.'

At that moment, Advenny stops and tells the girl, 'I didn't know It was forbidden. I just took it as a remembrance. I'm a stranger here.' Advenny feels very frightened and ashamed and decides to tell the park warden about herself. After the park warden listens to her, he decides not to punish her but tells her to clean the leaves of a small part of the park. 

The girl doesn't want to leave Advenny alone with this task and the two girl begin to sweep the leaves and talk. 

The girl asks:' What is you name?'

Advenny:' My name is Advenny. How about yours?'

The girl:' My name is Yoshiko.'

They talk about themselves while they are doing their tasks and become friends. Yoshiko is also a girl who feels herself lonely and she has the same desire of travelling the world.

Yoshiko invites Advenny to her house and Advenny accepts.

Before going home, Yoshiko takes Advenny to a  a sushi restaurant. Advenny likes sushi very much. She also tastes different Japanese food such as Gohan, Sashimi, and Okonomiyaki there.

After the restaurant, they go downtown of Tokyo, take a city tour and Yoshiko introduces her city to Advenny. She takes Advenny to Ginza, Tokyo Imperial Palace, Akihabara (a popular shopping center for electronics merchandise), and Koishikawa Korakuen Garden. Advenny tries Kimono on herself, takes photos of Tokyo, tries Judo and Aikido.

While they are on their way to home, they see a very big poster on the street. The poster reads,  ' Japanese Words Competition for Tourists' and the award is a travel for two people to the USA. Advenny feels excited when she sees this poster. Because travelling around the world is her greatest dream. She shares her feelings with Yoshiko and tells her friend about her wish to join this competition.  The competition is tomorrow and they have only one day to study Japanese words. Yoshiko supports her friend and promises Advenny to teach her the necessary words for the competition.

  JAPANESE WORDS             COMPETITION FOR               TOURISTS

Tomorrow, Award: USA Tour for 2 people

Then, they rush for the house and begin to prepare for the competition. Advenny learns many Japanese words that night.

Konnichi wa!- Ohayoo gozaimasu!- Anata no namae wa nan desu ka?- Watashi wa.......

The next morning, they go to the competition area. Advenny sees many different street activities and shows there. When it is time for Advenny to show her performance in Japanese, she feels excited. But Yoshiko backs her up.

Advenny reveals great performance in the competition and comes in first. She takes her award from the organizers. Her travel to the USA is two days later. Advenny asks Yoshiko to join her in this travel and Yoshiko accepts. In the following two days, the two buddies walk around Tokyo streets, do some shopping and begin to prepare for their great travel together.

It is a great day for Advenny and Yoshiko today. Because they are going to see many places in this great continent.

Yoshiko and Advenny are so excited about their trip to Mexico. Both of them have never been to there. 

While they are talking about the things that they can do in Mexico, a women sitting next to them starts to share her experience about Mexico. The girls are so happy and excited.

The first thing that they will do when they arrive in Mexico is to take a map to learn the historical places in Mexico.

After a long journey, they land in Mexico City. They take their luggages and also  a map. When they look at the map, they are so surprised because there are lots of places to visit in Mexico City.

They can't decide where to start. 

Chichen Itza is a good idea for them. It is the largest Maya city and also the most visited tourist destination in Mexico.

They love this pyramid so much, they take pictures of the temple. 

After visiting this temple, they go to Palanque which is an another archaeological site in Mexico. There are so many sculptures made by Mayans. 

They take a break for having lunch. They go to the city center. There are lots of restaurants but they are in Mexico and of course they will eat taco!

They step into a restaurant which looks amazing. There are so many ingredients for tacos. They choose their favorite ones. After eating their tacos they prefer fried ice cream for dessert. Both tacos and fried ice creams are so delicious for them.

In the afternoon they decide to go to the hotel to take a shower and get dressed for the dinner. They have a rest a little bit and they go out to have fun. When they sit at a restaurant, a girl called Larissa help them translate the menu. Because all the menu is in Spanish! They cannot understand anything. 

Larissa, Yoshiko and Advenny have a conversation about Mexico. Larissa suggests them to visit Cancun Beach. The girls are so excited....

Yes.... They are in the Cancun Beach. It is amazing.. Girls love this beach so much.

They sunbath, swim, read their books all day. It is a relaxing day for them.

At the end of this beautiful day, the girls decide to take a ticket to visit Canada.

They go to the hotel to have a rest.

Because they will fly to Canada next day.

Next day, While Advenny and Yoshiko are having breakfast, Larissa comes to the hotel to say them goodbye. However, Advenny doesn’t want to leave from Larissa and she wants her to come to Canada with them. Larissa feels so happy and accepts this offer. They search on the internet for  a room   to stay in Canada. They find a cheap room of a family house at the downtown.

After breakfast , they go to the airport to buy tickets. Fortunately, they find and buy ticket an hour later.

Advenny is so excited that

she can't sleep during flight. She sees some magazines there and finds a Travel Magazine of Canada. At the cover page there is a Picture of Niagara Falls. She shows 

it to the girls and all of them want to visit it first.

When they arrive to Canada, they take their luggages and find the house they will stay.

Brown family welcomes the girls hospitably.

Emily Brown: Hello, Welcome to our house. I am 

Emily. This is my mother Sarah and my father Jacob. What about you?

I am Advenny. And they are my friends Yoshiko and Larissa.

Sarah Brown: Come on girls. You must feel jetlag. Rest for a while in your room. Then Lets eat something for dinner.

They eat traditional Canadian food such as  Ginger Beef, Quebec Poutine, Canadian Bacon Strata ..

After dinner, girls go to their rooms for resting. Then Emily knocks the door and wants to come in. She prepares some coffee for girls and comes in. Emily asks Advenny for their tomorrow plan.

Advenny: We want to see Niagara Falls but we don’t know how to go. 

Emily: I can take you if you want. I know everywhere very well but it is a bit far away from here. I think we should visit there the other day. Tomorrow we can go to downtown.

Girls become very happy and excited and they go to bed.

After breakfast,  they get dressed and walk through the downtown. They first  see CN tower, it is really tall with 553 metres.

Larissa: How tall it is!

After that They see Casa Loma a castle a historic house museum and landmark. with 100 rooms. 

Then, They want to see  Banff National Park and lake Moraine. They are fascinated by the scene of the park.

At last they arrive  Canada’s Wonderland and enjoy there. They feel like a little child when they ride on the rollercoaster, carousels, big wheel etc

Advenny, Larissa, Yoshiko and Emily get back home to sleep and be energetic for the other day.

Other day, Emily’s father Jacob and mother  Sarah drive the girls to the Niagara Falls.

It is fabuluous says Yoshiko. We should take photos.

 I can take selfy, come on.

When she tries to take photo, the mobile phone falls down to the Niagara Falls.

Advenny feels so sad that she begins to cry. 

What will I do ? My family will  worry for me. I need a mobile phone but I dont have enough money to buy .

Jacob offers her money but Advenny rejects it. Sarah makes a different offer and says: 'If you want, you and your freinds can work at our restaurant one day and earn your own money.

It makes them very happy.

The last day, They work at a Traditional Canadian Restaurant of The Brown Family.

What do you want to order as a main course?

-Poutine and split pea soup, please.

Do you want to try our dessert?

-Yes please, saskatoon berry pie is my favorite.

At the end of the day, the girls feel so exhausted. They have dinner at the restaurant all together for the last time.

Jacob: Great job girls thank you. Here is your wage. 

Advenny: Thank you very much. Lets go and buy a new mobile phone. 

Advenny: Everything was great! But we have to go tomorrow. There are lots of places to visit.

Lets buy our tickets to Portugal.

Advenny: Finally arrived! I'm so sad Larrisa couldn't come with us but here we are - in the capital of Portugal. Where to go first?

Have you heard of Number 28 tram? It can take us through the city and all the tourist attractions.

What are we waiting for then? 

What a great tour guide! I liked Rossio square best. And you?

And I liked Belem district. It is really breathtaking! But, let's go to Porto now!

Did you know that Portugal was named after Porto, one of the two biggest cities in Portugal.

When in Porto, you have to visit the most beautiful bookstore - Livraria Lello which is an inspiration for J. K. Rowling's Harry Potter.

Guess  what happens when Advenny and Yoshiko arrive to the bookstore!? They bumpe into Harry Potter character. He is in the middle of a scene for the new 'Harry Potter and his Heritage' movie and the girls are offered to take part in the  scene in the movie. They are thrilled!

But...Harry's owl goes crazy and attacks Advenny and Yoshiko so they start to scream and run. They run out of the bookstore without taking a photo with Harry Potter! They are a bit sad but still excited.

After all this mess, Advenny and Yoshiko need some peace and decide to visit the Azores. Now, they are looking for the most amazing nature to rest.

Come and sit here with me. Listen to all these beautiful sounds of nature. Relaaaax....refresh your energy...we have a lot of other places to see.

I think someone else is trying to join you!

Advenny: It seems friendly to me. This can be our travel pet.

Yoshiko: Are you sure? 

Advenny: I'm not, but let's find out! Start walking.  Maybe it will follow us.

...and yes, it does...

The bat follows the girls everywhere they go. While they are sleeping in the apartment, the bat is on the window, waiting...

...in the morning...it is still there...the girls can't get rid of it...It follows them all the way to the airport.

When girls enter the airport, they feel a big relief...they think they will manage to escape from the bat...but, somehow, the bat hides in their luggage after the security check and boards the plane.

Advenny and Yoshiko are really excited to see the next destination, but they can't even imagine the surprise that is expecting when they land in Spain.

Advenny points at her book and says ‘’We are going to go to Spain.’’  and her friend smiles and after they talk more about it they go to bed. 

Advenny wakes up early that morning and wakes Yoshiko up.  She is really excited for the tour but then she realizes she doesn’t have enough money! She decides to go outside and earn some money; somehow she sees a pool with lots of money in it! She thinks it is a miracle and starts collecting the coins inside the pool when the police says ‘’Hey! Stop collecting those coins, it’s a wishing pool!’’ she apologizes and Yoshiko says ‘’Don’t worry I’ll give you money, I wish you said it earlier’’. 

 Somehow she is there! It is just a dream!  She is at the plane to Valencia (Spain). After a few hours of flying, she comes to the airport.

‘’Woow!! What is that?’’Advenny and her friend yell. It is a beautiful place called:  ´‘City of science and art´´.  She decides to visit that place with her friend. The inside is beautiful. There are lots of paintings and sculptures inside. Then she sees a beautiful vase and walks next to it.

Then ‘’BAMM!!’’ something soft hits her head. She turnes around and sees millions of people throwing tomatoes at each other. She realizes it is the ‘’La Tomatina Festival’’. She decides to join them but she accidently throws a tomato at a painting! The owner of the painting gets really mad and starts chasing over the girls. They are really scared. They cross a bridge, colourful buildings parks and a few sculptures. 

They got really tired at one point and decided to rest in a haystack. In the morning they woke up to a man shouting at them. 

They keep on running until they bump into a dancer. The dancer starts dancing with Advenny and they have a lot of fun.  

Then her friend tells her that they are in Bilbao and also someone called ‘’Ashley’’ is trying to ask her something. Ashley fixes her glasses and says ‘’My dad I-I mean Mr. Carl wants to talk to you guys’’.  It  turns out that Mr. Carl is an engineer and Ashley is his daughter. Mr. Carl says ‘’Wow you girls look like you have a good taste in clothes. May I ask a favour to you guys?’’ the girls nod in a shocked way and Mr. Carl says ‘’Great! I have a friend called. Mr. J.J. and he really likes your clothes fashion style. Can we eat dinner together and discuss about your inspirations?’’ the girls are really excited they both  shout ‘’YESS!’’ At dinner they meet Mr. J.J. and eat Paella.

Next day they decide eating some traditional food. Advenny and Yoshiko order gazpacho which is a kind of soup with smashed vegetables . While they are enjoying their food they speak about the places that they want to go. Yoshiko says she wants to see Tajo River. Advenny agrees with her and they buy bus tickets to their destination.

They reach  Tajo River and  watch the  pretty view. They see a cute homeless puppy. They take the puppy to vet because it looked sick. When they go to vet, Vet said that the dog isn’t actually sick. It looks sick because the dog hasn't eaten food for long time. Advenny feels sorry for  the dog so she asks for adopting it. Yoshiko says: „Of course! “.The girls are happy for adopting a puppy. 

After a good sleep they take  the dog for a walk at Segovia. While they are walking they see a boy  in their age and they decide to become friends with him. His name is Leo and he is Spanish. 

They visit Alcazar of Segovia. The castle is huge and they are happy about travelling Segovia Castle. They buy souvenirs for their families. Leo thinks it will be fun to travel with girls and he asks if he can travel with them. Girls are happy about it and now, they have a new friend to travel with. 

Can I join to your journey ?

Advenny sees a huge poster.  She points at it and says : ‘’We are going to go to ITALY next. I am sure we will see wonderful places.” 

Yoshiko, Leo and Advenny are on the plane now and they are excited about their trip to Italy. They are dreaming of the sihgts that they will see and the delicious food that they are going to taste.

After their journey , they finally land in Italy and feel that they are hungry , they go to a famous restaurant and have the famous napolitan pizza of Italy. It is really delicious !

Of course the don’t forget to taste the delicious ice-cream of Italy , it is really fantastic!

After this delicious break , they start to think over where to start and decide to ask the owner of the restaurant. He recommend them to start from the Leaning tower of  Pisa which was a medieval tower. 

When they arrive the square in which the tower is located , they see that there are many tourists who are taking photos and  they also take photos of the tower , it is really tiring to climb up the steps in the tower but inside the building is fantastic!

After they see this beautiful tower , they decide to go to Venice , the dream city. 

They fall in love with this amazing city.

They know that Venice is   unique environmentally, architecturally, and historically.

Venice is an amazing city. Advenny, Yoshiko and Leo stay in a hotel that night. Now, they are ready for Milano. They buy train tickets from the station.

They arrive in Milano, the city is breathtaking. They take pictures of the most well-known Cathedral İn Milano.

They do shopping before going to the hotel. The hotel's view is wonderful. 

When they wake up, it is a perfect day to visit Amalfi Coast in Italy. They get dressed and check out from the hotel immediately in order not to lose any time.

Positano is an amazing town. They sunbathe, swim all day. They are so excited about their next journey to Romania.

While Advenny and Yoshiko are talking about places to visit, she suggests traveling to Romania together. So, I can tell you important and interesting information about my country.  

And you can stay in my house. It is close to the city centre of Bucharest.

At this time, they land at Bucharest airport. It is late and they go to Maria's home. They are so excited that they can not sleep until mid-night.

Firstly, they go to Palace of  Parliament in Bucharest, one of the biggest in the world.

Romania has a lot of  Cultural Resources. Lets visit National Museum of Art and National Museum of History in Bucharest.

And after, they go to Olt River. It flows through the Făgăraș Mountains, central Romania.

Maria: What about going to the next?

Bran Castle near Braşov is a national monument and landmark in Romania. The fortress, commonly known as "Dracula's Castle" is situated on the border between Transylvania and Wallachia.

 Advenny and Yoshiko: Yes, sure. We want to visit  the Bran Castle. 

Maria: But you must be careful in Dracula s castle.  There are even the myth, the intrigue and the magic of this wonderful place of Transylvania, the Bran Castle.

Yoshiko: Don't  worry. What can be in the castle? There will be nothing.

 They go to the Castle. It is so frightening. They are scared and fall down in a room. They try to go out but they can not because the door is closed.

Advenny: what is happening? What can we do? I am scared. Nobody hearS us. We are stuck in this huge castle.

Maria: Ok. Relax. 

They shout and want help.Help, help, help please.... 

The officer  hearS the sounds and rescueS them. They thank him and go away from there.

After, Advenny and Yoshiko  go to the statue of the king Decebalus. Decebalus, the last king and a national hero of ancient Romania. Its 40-meter portrait with rocks and very interesting. Advenny and Yoshiko are in a fascinated expression when they see it. Advenny look at the statue and has a little suspicious from here. After they are both examining the statue, strange and loud voices come from inside. Yoshiko and Advenny rush away from the bridge. They  get on the bus. 

  It's time to go now. Thank you, Maria for hosting us  and taking us around Romania. We are really pleased to meet you. We can't wait to go to Croatia.

Advenny and Yoshiko are very excited for this new city. They arrive in the capital of Croatia, Zagreb at night. The sky looks great with lights at night, they think. Advenny says, 

It is a fabuluous  city, I like it. They can't wait to visit this city..

          CROATIA

Yes, you are right.  

This city is amazing.

In the morning, they wake up early and decide to take a tour of this city. Zagreb is a city with a rich history dating from Roman times. Firstly, they go to Ban Jalecic square. Then they visit St. Mark's Church, Cathedral of Zagreb, Archeological museum and other amazing places.

Next day, Advenny and Yoshiko want to try representative snack of Zagreb. But They don't know its name. So, they ask the old man in the square the name of this delicious snack..

Immmm Yummyy!!

It is very delicious.  I have never eaten such a snack before.

The last destination in Croatia is the city of Dubrovnik. Dubrovnik's sparkling sea and Baroque architecture fascinate them. They wear their swimsuit and then go to the beach. The sea is so clear that Advenny wants to swim.After a while, she shouts 'help helpp helpppp!!!!'

Yashiko is frightened. She says; what happened? 

Lifequard sees and rescues her immediately. She thanks him and smiles.

UKRAINE

When Advenny and Yoshiko arrive Ukraine , they are excited. They would like to start sightseeing as soon as possible.

They go to a hotel and sleep. The next day, they go to Kiev-Pechersk Lavra Caves Monastery. It is a great place.

It is on the UNESCO World Heritage List. They like it. It is a really big building. So after a while, they are hungry.

Let's go to a restaurant

I'm starving.

They go to a restaurant. They would like try traditional cuisine.

     Welcome

They look at he menu and decide to try Borscht Soup. It is a traditional meal. It is made of beet, beef and other vegetables. It is delicious. They like it.

The next day, they go to Odessa National Academic and Ballet Theater. They watch a traditional dance show there. There is a girl. She is dancing. She has traditional clothes on her. It is a great show.

They are young and they like exciting activities. Advenny likes roller coasters very much. But Yoshiko is afraid of them. So they go to Gorky Central Park of Culture and Leisure.

Advenny gets on the roller coaster and she really likes it. Yoshiko doesn't want to try it. Yoshiko likes carrousels. They both like bumper cars. So they buy  tickets and have fun.

Advenny and Yoshiko both like nature. They like parks. There is a famous place in Ukraine. Its name is Sofiyivka Park. They have a boat tour on the lake. It is has a perfect view. They have also a picnic there. But they aren't full. They are still hungry.
