Once upon a time there was a widow who had five children. She was very, very poor. She couldn’t find a job. Only once a week she would make bread for the rich neighbour Lady. The Lady would give her a piece of bread for her help, to take it to her children. She would then go to her house with dough on her hands. She would wash her hands with clean water and she would boil that water and make some gruel for her children. They would eat it the whole week until their mother would do the same thing again next week.
The Lady's children, even though they had so much food and fluffy bread, they didn't feed well, but they were very slim. The poor widow's children on the other hand were eating well and they were getting fat like goatfish. And the Lady was puzzled and she would talk to her girlfriends, and her girlfriends would say to her:
"The widow's children eat and get fat because she takes the luck of your children into her hands and gets it to her own children. That's why they get fat and yours live hard".
The Lady believed it and, when the day came for the widow to knead again, she didn't let the poor woman go away with unwashed hands, only made her wash them well, so that luck would remain in her house. And the poor widow went to her house with tears in her eyes.

"Take care, my children, and do not cry and I will find a piece of bread to bring you".
And she went from door to door, and she was given a piece of stale bread. She dipped it in water, and gave it to her children. And after they had eaten, she put them to sleep. And at midnight she took off and left, so that she would not see her children starve to death.

A little more futher three other young men were sitting and they were holding a bunch of grapes in their hands.

Hey, old lady, how do you spend the months of the year? What do you think of March, April and May?
-We spend the time well, my children, said the widow, and when these months come, the mountains and the lowland become green and the Earth is decorated with many kinds of flowers which smell so good and the humans enjoy. All the birds start singing. The farmers see their fields become green and prepare their warehouses. So we haven't got anything to be angry about March, April and May, because then God will throw his fire and burn us because we are ungrateful. In Spring the flowers grow and the Earth is decorated.

After that the other three men who were holding the hay told her: "What do you think about June, July and August?"
And the poor woman said: "And to them we haven't any reason to be angry, because with the warmth which they create, fruit trees grow. Then, the farmers harvest their crops and other farmers pick up their fruit from the trees. And poor people are even happier with them, these months, because they don't need a lot of expensive clothes.
Then the other three boys, who were holding the grapes, asked her:
"What is your relationship with months September, October and November?"
"During these months, people pick up grapes and convert them into wine. There is evidence that winter comes and people make sure that they have enough wood, coal and warm clothes to be protected from cold", the woman said.

Then the boys who had the furs asked her;
"What is your relationship with months December, January and February ?"
"These months love us very much and we love them, too", the poor woman said. "But, you may ask why there is so much love between us. That's why! People always want more and more things. As a result, they prefer to work a lot and earn a lot of money. As these months come we stop our jobs and we rest from our summer jobs. People love them too, because their crops grow with the rain and the snow. Finally, all months are good and they do the jobs God has told them. We, humans haven’t got a good character and behaviour, contrary to the months".

Then, the first man of those who carried the grapes went out and soon he came in again.
"Come now, lady, take this pitcher and go to your house to feed your children".
The woman was loaded with joy and said to the young men:
"Wishing you many years, my children".
"Have a good time lady", they answered to her and she left.
