"My Life During the 2020 Pandemic"
I dedicate this book to the people who helped and supported me through this 2020 pandemic.
Hi. My name is Kailey Charles and I'm 11 years old, and I want to share with you my experience and my life during the 2020 pandemic. My story is all about me and some other people who were involved. It hasn't been too easy for most people. We are all fighting for our safety and lives. Well, here's how it goes.

The year 2020 wasn't all that great. It happened when we were in school in March. We heard the door close, the teacher said that school was going to be closed. We all wondered why. Then, the disturbing news was said aloud. It was because of a virus that was spreading. It was called the Corona virus. We all had to leave school and our friends. It was very disappointing and sad.

The school usually provides breakfast and lunch for us. Since we weren't in school, parents had to buy or cook food to provide for their children. Some people ran out of money. On the news a woman wanted her children to go back to school because she ran out of money to buy food. All she had was cereal. It gets pretty serious.

Yum

I was very scared at first, but then I began to build my confidence. Since school closed in March, we started online school in April. I had different teachers at that time. Real school started in September. Many students did not come to school during April.
When we was told that school would be closed many questions was spinning through my head. How will we learn, What is it going to be like, Will it be like this forever? At the same time I was happy and worried. I was happy because school was going to be closed, but at the same time worried because I don't know what would happen. Eventually, it was all over the news that we would do online school.

When we started online classes in September, it was quite boring. I realized that we would get more work rather than just being in regular school. The app we used for school had plenty of different features. It allowed us to get more things done. I was longing for online school to finish. We even had to wear our school uniform online.

Some time passed by, and much hasn't changed. On holidays we wouldn't have school and we would get to take the day-off, but would still be piled with work. Our Christmas break came and I was so relieved. During Christmas I did lots of fun activities, but the fun was coming to a close. We returned back to online school January 7th, 2021. It is still the same. The coronavirus was contagious and affecting many people. We would have returned to school if the cases weren't as high as they are. People were sick at home.

We know we have to wear masks to protect ourselves and others. Masks can be very uncomfortable at times. People wear mask so much that now they don't want to let go of it. My life wasn't like that. I have been told many times if I don't need to wear a mask at certain times then don't wear it. People have gotten so frustrated that they don't even know what to do.

Why!!
How would you feel if we had to wear masks at home? That would be so crazy. I remember a time when me, my mom, and my sister was going inside the grocery store. I almost walked in without a mask. And not to long ago a girl was cursing because she just wanted to go inside the store without a mask on. It wasn't even an adult.
