First, in the group children propose to study castles, particularly Ludza Medieval Castle.
Then it is decided to invite parents to tell a legend about Ludza Castle to the children in the group showing them pictures on the smart board. Together with one of the group children’s mother they discuss the heard legend.
Children go to Ludza castle hill where the castle ruins have preserved. The guide of Ludza Local History Museum tells the children the legend and a little bit of history of the castle. Then they use tablet computers with special application where the castle can be seen in the appearance it supposedly looked in the medieval times.
After visit to the castle, children discuss the things they have learned in the group, and consequently they propose making castle models. It is decided that they do it at home together with their families. They make these models with their parents, which they together with their parents later present in the kindergarten during the special event and festivity dedicated to Family Day.
These castle models can now be seen in the corridor of the kindergarten, which joins two blocks of the kindergarten building.
