“Welcome to the Philadelphia Police District 25, said Raymond.  “You have all have sworn to 

be the model of excellence in policing by working in the partnership with the community to fight crime and enforce laws while safeguarding the constitutional rights of all people,” said Raymond. He was a 25 year veteran of the police force. He was a chubby man with a big belly protruding so much  that there was a button missing on his shirt. 

The moment Youssef heard those powerful words uttered he knew that he was going to live by those words as a new recruit at the District 25 Philadelphia Police station, but he would soon learn that Raymond wasn’t. Youssef was deeply religious and frequented his neighborhood mosque. He was known in his community for his honesty and kindness.

 “Okay. Everyone go with your partners, said Raymond.” Youssef stayed behind and waited for Raymond. Youssef and Raymond were going to be partners. Raymond and Youssef left the police department in their patrol car. As a new police officer, Youssef was very excited to began his new job as a new recruit at the District 25 Philadelphia.

After ten minutes of driving from the police station, Raymond stopped the patrol car and behind a brand new model S Tesla car at the side of the road.

“ Turn off your body camera, Youssef, Raymond said.

“ Why, asked Youssef curiously since it is department policy to keep it on.”

“ Because sometimes you can’t do what you wanna do when the body camera is on all the time.

 They got out of the police patrol car and walked towards the car in front of them. Raymond asked the African American man at the front seat to leave the car. 

“ We need to search your car, said Raymond”.

Without resisting the innocent man calmly left the car as the police officers searched his car. While Raymond searched the model S Tesla, Youssef noticed Raymond dropping something that looks like drugs on the car seat. Youssef astonished by what he witnessed.

“ I found drugs on the car, said Raymond.”

 “Youssef stood next to the car quietly, still surprised of what he just saw. 

 Still in surprise Youssef lastly said, I saw you drop those drugs on the car seat, Raymond.

“ Well, he deserves it anyway because he got away the that las time.”

Raymond cuffed the man and harshly pushed him into the patrol car and drove to the nearby police station.

After taking the man to the police station, they went back to work. They both sat at the car quietly. Youssef was still wondering about the incident that he witnessed while Raymond was thinking of another problem to cause.  This time Youssef was driving the police patrol car. Youssef and Raymond were driving by a poor neighborhood. 

“ Can you stop the car, Raymond said eagerly.

“ Why? asked Youssef.”

“ There is a man walking there, Raymond said pointing his hands at a hooded Black man.”
