Who is Odysseus you may ask, the man who was stranded on an island for seven
years. The crazy tales and stories of what he went through to go back home to his
wife. The stories and tales of the creatures he encountered on his journey. The
Cyclopes, The sires, the Gods and goddesses . What makes him a hero? He is a
mere mortal man. No powers at all, only the ones the gods give him to help him
through his voyage. His bravery, his courage, the obstacles he faced


































Odysseus and his men who lived on the island of Ithaca. Odysseus had been away
from home, fighting a war. After the battle of Troy, which the Greeks won, King
Odysseus and his men finally sailed for home. Ithaca is a little island as far away
from Troy as you could get and still be in ancient Greece.
It was a long trip. It could have taken Odysseus a good month to get home. These
were early times, and the ships were not as strongly built as they are today. But
because of the trouble Odysseus faced on the way, it took Odysseus and his men
ten long years to get home!


After the victory of Troy Odysseus and his men begin there journey. Odysseus and
his
man stop at The Island of the Ci-cones. They stop to raid this island for supplies.
They go in search for some supplies because they are lacking things.
The Men encounter Ci-cones.
The Ci-cones attack on horseback, and Odysseus lost 72 of his men.
Finally escaping the island with 72 less men Odysseus travels to The Island of the
Lotus Eaters Odysseus sends his men out to search for food.
His men find the lotus flower and eats them and Odysseus has to recover his men
when they eat the Lotus Flower.





Odyessus then leaves the island of The Lotus Eaters and travels to
the the Island of the Cyclopes Here, Odysseus and his men find a
Cyclops' cave. They were lured in by his cheese and wine.
The cyclops, Polyphemus, traps them inside the cave,
for later consumption, then Odysseus and his men blind the
cyclops, and then sneak out under his heard of sheep.
