Ben was walking through gardens on his way to see his Gran. This was the first time he had done this on his own and it felt like a great adventure.

As he walked in between shrubs and bushes, he kicked and headed his football.

He loved playing football and especially moving the ball between his many legs.

He stopped whistling when he heard an almighty commotion 

Where am I?

Ouch!

Owwww!

The noise was deafening . There was shouting and screaming 

He walked past the big tree and saw a very "angry garden".

He saw a very dizzy Bee sitting by a tree. There were Ladybugs fighting Crickets and Bees jumping on the backs of Grasshoppers.

A ladybug rolled past him and he said "why are you fighting"

The ladybug looked at him, shrugged her shoulders and said, "I don't know, we always have!"

Oooh! That was fun!

Ben shook his head, picked up his football and as he turned away when he was suddenly bumped into by a Stick Insect, which caused his football to fall out of his hands.

The ball rolled into the path of a Lady bug who kicked it and the said "Oooh, that was fun!" 

The ball landed in front of a Bee, who swung his leg at the round object and gave it a great big kick. "Woo Hoo, look at it go! He said with a big smile on his face.

Hooray!

Brilliant!

How did he do that, amazing!

The ball soared into the air and a Stick Insect jumped towards the football and made contact with ball with his head, "Wow"'.

The ball rocketed back into the air when a cricket jumped up and caught it with both hands. As he landed, Ben noticed that everyone in the angry garden had stopped fighting and were watching. 

Everyone was looking at the ball and they started kicking it to each other and suddenly Ben heard laughing.

Ben had an idea!

Ben ran over to the crowd of excited insects and shouted above the laughter and talking

"I know how you can stop fighting, shall we have a game of football?"

"What is football?", they all asked

So Ben told them about the game of football.

What can we use to make goalposts?

I know where we can play football, follow me

Ben said, 'We need to find a flat area that can be the pitch, to play on?'

"We can find one', said the excited honey bees and ladybugs as they flew off together.

Ben said, 'We need to make goalposts and nets?'

'We can do that', said the crickets and grasshoppers as they disappeared into the woods. 

"Thank you" said Ben, "oh and we need a ball'

'Oh wait', he said laughing, "we already have one of those".
