This story is part of the Project "The Multilingual Book", an eTwinning project coordinated by Yusuf Ozcan (Turkiye) and Helena Lourenço (Portugal) in the year 2020/2021.

      Certo dia, estava eu na minha casa de banho a pre-         parar-me para mais um dia de escola quando olho para o espelho e o meu reflexo não aparecia! Fiquei curioso e toquei-lhe. O meu relógio de pulso enlouqueceu, os ponteiros giravam a grande velocidade e as coisas à minha volta começaram a mudar.

Quando entrei no meu quarto, tudo estava diferente! A minha secretária e a minha cama de madeira tinham sido substituídas por móveis de design moderno e um pouco esquisito, a minha televisão tinha desaparecido e as imagens eram projetadas na parede 

         One day, I was in my bathroom preparing for              another day of school when I looked in the mirror and my reflection didn't appear! I got curious and touched him. My wrist watch went crazy, the hands were spinning at great speed, and things around me began to change.

When I entered my room, everything was different! My desk and my wooden bed had been replaced by furniture of modern and slightly weird design, my television had disappeared and the pictures were projected on the wall.   

Estava a tentar perceber o que se passava, quando me dou com uma pessoa que não conhecia e que olhava para mim com um ar muito assustado. Quem seria aquele rapaz? Por onde tinha entrado? O que faria no meu quarto?

Observo-o com mais atenção e reparo que tem feições, gestos que me são um pouco familiares! A medo e com uma voz hesitante pergunto: 

- Quem és tu? O que fazes no meu quarto?

- Chamo-me Pedro Lourenço e este é o meu quarto! Responde ele, igualmente, amedrontado.

I was trying to figure out what was going on when I ran into a person I didn't know who looked at me with a very scared look. Who would that boy be? Where'd he come in? What would you do in my room?

I observe it with more attention and notice that it has features, gestures that are a little familiar to me! In fear and with a hesitant voice I ask:

- Who are you? What are you doing in my room?

- My name is Pedro Lourenço and this is my room! He replies, equally frightened.

“PEDRO LOURENÇO”? Mas este é o meu nome! O que se está a passar aqui?

Foi aí que descobri que aquele rapaz era EU mesmo, mas vinte anos mais velho! Tinha andado no tempo!

Então começámos a conversar e ele percebeu quem eu era. Ambos continuávamos muito surpreendidos e confusos!

Como tinha ido ali parar e porquê? Aos poucos comecei a perceber… 

Olhámos para as imagens projetadas na parede do meu quarto. Estavam a dar as notícias. As imagens eram assustadoras! 

"PEDRO LOURENÇO"? But this is my name! What's going on here?

That's when I found out that boy was myself, but twenty years older! I had walked in time!

So we started talking and he realized who I was. We both remained very surprised and confused!

How'd it get there and why? Gradually I began to realize…

We looked at the images projected on the wall of my room. They were breaking the news. The pictures were scary! 

Falava-se que para os europeus terem acesso às chamadas “Energias Verdes” outras zonas do planeta estavam a ser completamente destruídas na busca de minérios raros como: o carvão, cobre ou grafite usados no fabrico de carros elétricos, painéis solares ou, até mesmo geradores de energia eólica! Mostravam imagens de animais mortos; falavam de espécies que se extinguiram e outras em vias de extinção; mares e rios poluídos; florestas devastadas; climas alterados...

Eu já tinha ouvido falar sobre estes perigos, mas agora, vinte anos passados, esta era uma realidade e o “Meu Eu” estava a vivê-la!

I had heard about these dangers, but now, twenty years on, this was a reality and my” I " was living it!
