In the peaceful city of Townsville, a
young girl named Madoka Kaname lives a
normal life. Birds singing, dogs barking,
and people going about their regular
business as usual is all Madoka could ask
for.

School is pretty normal for everyone and it’s here
that Madoka can see her friends. Madoka likes being
with her friends, but always feels left out since they
all have much more interesting things going on in
their lives. Madoka usually just sits somewhere
isolated from them as her best friends Mami, Sayaka,
Kyoko, and Homura talk about some adventure that
they had over the weekend.

One day after school, Madoka bumped into a
mysterious creature. It looked like a cross between a
cat and a bunny rabbit. The strange creature said to
Madoka that he can give her magical powers.
Madoka, being the typical eleven year old she is, took
the offer and became a magical girl called a Meguca.

Madoka had the power to do anything she
never thought she could do. She could fly like a
bird, she could breathe underwater like a fish,
and she had super speed. She also received a
magical bow that shoots multiple arrows at once.

Madoka realizes that her life would never be the
same if anyone knew about her being a Meguca, so
she decided to keep it a secret from her own friends
and family. When she got home, Madoka simply told
her parents she had a good day at school when they
asked and never mentioned Kyubey, the mysterious
creature who gave her the magic powers.

The next day at school, Madoka sat further
away from her group of friends in fear she
might accidentally tell them about being a
Meguca.

After school that day, Madoka bumps into Kyubey
again. This time he tells her that her powers aren’t
free at all. In exchange for her powers, she needs to
defeat and get rid of horrible witches that curse the
city and wreak havoc. Madoka realizes that she
would have to sacrifice most of her time just to save
the city just to keep her powers, but she decides to
go for it with an eager expression on her face.

As soon as Madoka agrees to protect the
city, a witch suddenly appears and shrouds
the entire city in darkness. People on the
streets can’t see where they’re going and
there is chaos happening all throughout the
city. Madoka goes to confront the witch
and starts to attack.

This witch was an easy target and Madoka
defeated it without breaking a sweat. The
dark smog that enveloped the city
vanished within seconds and the day was
saved. Madoka then went home to have a
rest before going to school the next day.

Over the next week, this whole routine
repeats itself over and over again. Madoka
goes to school, goes to defeat a witch that’s
wrecking the city, and goes home to sleep.
The witches get increasingly stronger and
over time, and Madoka gets more and more
exhausted after every day.

When she shows up for school the next day,
Homura and Sayaka both notice that Madoka wasn’t
acting quite herself. They all knew that Madoka was
a bit anti-social but this was too much for her. They
decided to try and talk to her at lunch to try and get
her spirits up. However, Madoka simply insisted that
she was fine and there was no need for her friends to
worry about her so much.

As the witches get stronger, Madoka has to work
much harder than she ever has just to defeat it. After
school, she meets up with Kyubey again and starts to
look for more witches. Kyubey then says to Madoka
that there is none but one witch left in the city and
warns her that this one is the strongest out of every
other witch she’s defeated in the past month. Kyubey
also mentions that if she fails to defeat this witch, the
fate of the world would be at stake. Madoka only has
a day to rest up for the final battle against this witch.
So she went home to go and try and get a good
night’s sleep.
