Once there lived a beautiful girl named Elena she had a step-sister named Chloe and her father was a king and her step-mother was the queen. the queen was always wearing new fancy dresses and Chole also wore beautiful dresses but not Elena who wore old dresses. when she was only sixteen years old her father died because of a disease, but he left his last will behind with the queen. 

when Elena and Chloe were eighteen the queen announced that the kings last will was that Chloe would be the next princess.

The king's will was that his step-daughter; Chloe will be the next queen

Elina cried in her room she couldn't believe that her father favored her step-sister over her. she sat up and stroked her kitten, still thinking about the will.

Chloe sat in her room happy. Thinking about what she would do when she became princess. Then she thought of maybe taking Elina's kitten which she was insanely jealous about.

The next day the queen bought them both new clothes, shoes, jewelry etc. For the celebration of Chloe being the next queen.

Instead of wearing the clothes her stepmother bought Elena wore her mothers dress.

It was the day when Chloe would be given the crown and everyone got ready. 

Before the time of celebration the queen ordered Elena not to brush her hair and to wear a powder that would make her black so Chloe would look more pretty.

Elena begged the queen to let her get ready beautifully but the queen threatened to banish her so Elena did what she was ordered. Chloe wore a beautiful red dress and heels.

Now I am the princess so everybody needs to listen too me.

Elina cried in her bedroom after the ceremony; she had made a fool of herself in front of everyone

Chloe was sitting happy in her room and just thinking of all the things she would do.

The next day Chloe started giving orders she gave an order to give her Elina's kitten: Smokey. Elina was hiding behind a curtain and was shocked to hear the order.

Go and get me Smokey

Elina ran to her bedroom and locked the door.

Elina went to her window and opened it then she put her kitten in it's cage, tied a rope with it then she carefully put the cage on the room's roof beneath hers. Then Elina changed into her sleeping gown and then opened the door

When the people told Chloe this she came into Elina's room with the queen.

Chloe told the people to search the whole kingdom and the palace for the kitten. Elina locked her bedroom door and then got out of the window to join her kitten on the rooms roof.

Elina quietly got of the roof and went out of the palace gates to her friend: Sara.

Sara lived with her grandmother in a farmhouse. Elina reached there and greeted Sara. Sara invited her in and introduced her to her grandmother.
