Maisy was an imaginative little girl. She loved the stars, they reminded her of the freckles that covered her body.
When the kids would tease her about her freckles and pull her pigtails, Maisy would hold her head high because her freckles were the stars and that made her special.

Every night, Maisy watched the stars and talked to one star in particular.
Until one day... her star went missing!

"MOMMA!" Maisy cried.
"What is it?" Her mom replied.
"My star! Up in the sky, I can't find it!
Maisy's favourite star had been in the same place each night. Where did it go? Maisy's mom would often have to drag away from her window and into bed. It became a routine for them each night.
"Go to sleep dear, you can look for your star tomorrow night." She kissed Maisy's freckled nose and tucked her into bed.
Maisy fell asleep wondering what places her star went.
BANG!
A loud noise came from the backyard. Maisy woke up and went to find where the noise came from.

She tumbled outside outside and found a bright star hiding in the dirt. "Star, what are you doing in the dirt?"
A little voice appeared, "I got pushed from the sky. I lost my friends, but I want to get them back!"
"Where are you from, I can help you find them!"
"Thank you! I'm from the Big Dipper."

Maisy picked up the star with care. "What's your name star?"
"Dippy"
Maisy had a thought. How was she going to get Dippy back in the sky? "Dippy, how am I going to get you back to your friends? I can't fly!" "Sure you can! Jump and see what happens!"
Maisy used all her strength and jumped. She couldn't believe it, she could fly!
"All right Dippy, let's get you back to your friends." Said Maisy

The two arrived at the first constellation.
"Is this your constellation? Are these your friends?"
Dippy looked around, "No. We're in the bow of Orion's belt. This is not my constellation."
"Okay, we'll keep looking."

Maisy and Dippy arrived at the second constellation.
"Dippy why are we upside down?"
"Because we're at the Little Dipper silly! It's always upside down."
Maisy looked around, "Is this your constellation? Are these your friends?"
"No we're in the handle of the Little Dipper. This is not my constellation."
"Okay, we'll keep looking."

After searching and searching, Maisy was running out of hope.
"We've been searching for hours, why can't we find it? Everything looks the same! I'm sorry Dippy, I've failed you."
"You have not failed! It's hard, it looks easier to see the constellations on the ground than up close."

"What do you mean? Stars are stars, we should be able to find your friends." Maisy pouted.
"If you look closely, see how I have a chip on one of my points? The star over there doesn't. Over there, a star is missing a point completely but they still shine just as bright as the others"
