News

I'm Morgan,

Child of 2 middle eastern chaps,

A sibling to 4 IRRITATING human beings,

Born in Brooklyn and visited my country once

Here's how it went...

On a sunny day

The sun, a HUGE spinning sphere of hot gas

Middle of may, My mom told me the news-

The news that changed my life forever-

"We'll be going on a vacation to Yemen" she said-

Contentment is what I showed-

But that’s not how I felt…

I felt as if I don’t belong in a country where people,

Starve and

Cry and

Suffer...

I just wanted to stay home-

The place I was born in

The place I grew up in

On June 10th,

I packed my belongings for the trip

I packed up tons of clothes,

Like i was gonna stay there forever-

A brush,

Variety of outfits,

Many different colors!

And anything else you can think of

June 27th arrived-

The day I will no longer breathe the air of America

Rushing to the airport was chaotic

My dad-

Thinking we missed the flight

My mom-

Glad she’ll be able to see her mother

For the first time in 17 YEARS!

My brother-

crying, for he couldn’t find his stuffed toy

And me…

knowing that I am leaving my home,

my friends,

and everyone else

In The Bus

3 days later…

In a bus,

In my country,

I could see my cousins,

The ones I’ve never met before,

Driving with us,

To see my grandparents and everyone else,

But that’s not what caught my eye…

Something else-

Much more traumatizing
