Once upon a time.....

........In a not so distant land, there lived a girl named Red. Red 

lived with her mother Rose and her sister Sophia in a beautiful 

castle. When Red and Sophia were young their farther, the king, 

died trying to slay a dragon. Their mom became queen and 

inherited a vast fortune, so they were very rich, but they all still 

missed him dearly.

One day while Red was picking flowers in the garden, her mom called to 

her.

"Red, I am planning on throwing a ball in the palace in celebration of 

your 16th birthday. Your grandmother has made you a beautiful golden 

dress. Would you please walk to her house to have it fitted."

Red got really excited.

" No one has ever done this for me! I wonder what it looks like?" she 

thought to herself.

As Red set off her mom said to her

"Don't get lost. I love you. Be safe Red".

But unknowingly to Red and her mom, Sophia was listening to 

everything they said and getting angrier by the moment. You see, 

Sophia has a dark side. Ever since their dad died, Sophia has believed 

that her mom has liked Red more then her. So Hearing the news about 

a ball being thrown in Red's honor and a ballgown being made 

especially for her sister has made Sophia green with envy and mad 

with hatred. Sophia thought to herself

" She is not going to the ball. I am. Red does not deserve a beautiful 

new dress. I do!

So Sophia devised an evil plan.

I will go to grandmas house and pose as her... go in and..."

As Red ventures into the woods beyond the palace, she trips over a 

tree root. As she falls, she thinks she sees the silhouette of a man. 

When she hits the ground she also hits her head and is dazed for a moment. 

She closes her eyes. When she opens them she realizes the silhouette 

is gone. Confused by what has just happened, she comments to 

herself.

" Did I just see.........no that can't be possible".

Even though she is still a little confused, Red continues on her journey.

Suddenly she hears rustling, as if someone was running in the woods. Than a 

strange voice appears...

"Where are you going, my pretty girl, all alone in the woods?"

"I'm going to my grandmas house to be fitted for a dress for the ball", Red replied.

"Does grandma live by herself?"

"Oh, yes called Red, "but she never opens doors to strangers!".

"I see. Well, Goodbye then. Perhaps we'll meet again". 

Knock! Knock!

"Who's there?", yelled out grandma.

"It's me, Red. I'm here to try on my dress for the ball". But 

unknowingly to grandma it was actually Sophia who was at the door, 

mimicking Red's voice.

But grandma was old and her hearing not what it used to be, so she 

didn't notice the difference.

"Lift the latch and come in" exclaimed grandma

And Sophia did. And then she ate grandma in one big gulp, stole her 

clothes and changed into them.
