Another morning in the Kingdom of Thebes,
But instead of birds chirping
Oedipus heard the hollers and screams.

Out of the window he looks upon his land,
everyone is dying,
children are crying,
and Oedipus remains to stand.

Priest! Priest!
Please tell me everything,
even the least!

The Kingdom is at the end,
unless you, Oedipus the King can save everyone,
even your worst friend.

I Oedipus am the bravest of all the Thebans!
Every Theban suffers the same,
But I am the one who suffers for all the painCreon, my family and my savior
shall be sent to Delphic to hear from Apollo,
the God, who can answer our prayers

Oedipus the answer from Apollo must be spoken in private,
if everyone hears, it may start a riot

No, if this answers our proof,
then the people must know the truth

The murderer remains in Thebes?
Oh please, do remind me of this Horrific scene

The murderer of Laius remains in Thebes,
and the only way to save us,
is to make him leave

So what was done?
All died but one.
The King was attacked by highwaymen
but before anyone could catch them,
they vanished and were never seen again

Citizens of this Kingdom,
if you have any answers or wisdom
for who has committed this selfless act
do not step back!
Come forward with the truth
you will be not punished only rewarded,
and for the one who survived
shall be banished, or will die

Speak to Tiresia, a man that is blind,
He was born to tell only truth,
there is no such thing as a lie.
he will help us in the time of need,
please consider this help,
as it will save us, indeed

Choragos, bring him to me!

I am Tiresia, speaker of the truth to this land.
I will not tell you who the murderer is,
since, it shall lead to only a crisis

Do not hold anything from me!
Your truth is a key,
it will only open a door to safety

If you can answer this riddle I give,
then you can save us all and Thebes will live.
But if you are not wise to see the curse,
then the pollution will remain on this EarthThe man who murdered Laius will turn out to be
both father and brother
of all the children he has conceived.
There is more,
he has been living a sin all his life
cause it is true that his mother is his wife

We are the speakers of Thebes,
we are here to talk about our lands disease.
There is a curse that is not solved,
but our only question is who was involved?

The only ones that are placed to blame
are Oedipus and his wife,
and now they sit in shame.
Confused and forgetting of their past,
we pray that this torture does not last

What do you mean?
A memory, what do you speak of?
My love

How strange a shadowy memory crosses my mind,
it makes me wonder why?

During my life travels a man once spoke," You are not your fathers son"This thought makes me choke,
what if my father Corinth
and my mother Merope
are not the ones?

This idea is wretchedness!
Dreadful!
Unbearable!
That I should lie with my own mother
and become the father of my brother
and more to this tragedy,
I am my father's murderer
