New friend- the story of tolerance

Wczoraj do naszej grupy dołączyła nowa koleżanka. Ma na imię Irena i pochodzi z Ukrainy. Kiedy do nas przyszła, była wystraszona i nieśmiała. Nasze dzieci z grupy szybko zaopiekowały się Irenką, szczególnie dziewczynki.

Yesterday to our group joined new girl. Her name is Irena and she comes ffrom Ukraine. When she came to us, she was frightened and shy. Our children took care about her immidiately, especially girls.

Pokazały jej szaffkę w szatni i miejsce w sali, gdzie może trzymać swoje rzeczy i książki do nauki.

Irena nie mówiła dobrze po polsku i nie zawsze rozumiała co dzieci do niej mówią.

They showed her cabine in a dressing room and her cabine in the class, where she could keep her things and learning books.

Irena could not speak polish well and she did not always understand what are children saying to her.

Chociaż dzieci starały się zapraszać ją do zabawy, Irenka nie zawsze chciała dołączyć. Czasem siedziała sobie sama przy stoliku i patrzyła jak inni się bawią.

Although children were inviting her to play together, she did not always wanted to. Sometimes she was sitting lonely at the table and watching children playing.

Wtedy nasza pani Jola przypomniała dzieciom zajęcia o tolerancji. O tym, że każdy z nas jest inny ale też taki sam.O tym, że Irenka mówi w innym jęęzyku, ale też jest takim dzieckiem jak my i też lubi się bawić.

Theen, our teacher Jola reemindeed us our lesson about tolerance. We weree talking that everyone of us is different but also the same.Irenka speaks diffeereent languagee but she is the same child as we are and she likes to play too.

Dzieci przypomniały sobie zabawę "szukam przyjaciela" i zaprosiły do niej Irenkę. Dziewczynka dołączyła do zabawy. Dzieci poruszały się po sali przy dźwiękach muzyki. Kiedy muzyka ustawała, zwracały się do najbliżej stojącego dziecka mówiąc "szukam przyjaciela", a ono odpowiadało "to właśnie go znalazłeś" i wspólnie się przytulali.

Children reminded themselves a play called "I am looking for a frieend" and invited Irenka to play together. She joined the play. Children were moving while the music was playing. When the music stopped they were talking to nearest children "I am looking for a friend" and the child answered "You have just found him" and they gave them a hug.

Kiedy Irenka po wielokroć usłyszała, że "właśnie znalazła przyjaciela", a dzieci przytulały ją jak wszystkie inne, wreszcie zaczęła się uśmiechać.

When Irenka heard many times that "she has just found a friend" and children hugged her like anyone else, she finally started to smile.

Po zabawie Irenka chętnie dołączyła do grupy dziewczynek rysujących przy stole. I nawet dziewczynki nauczyły jej kilku polskich słów, a ona nauczyła je kilku słów ukraińskich. Od tamtej pory dziewczynki bawiły się już zawsze razem.

After the play, Irenka joined the group of girls drawing at the table. And girls taught her several polish words. She taught them several ukraine words too. Since that time girls always played together.

To był początek pięknej przyjaźni i piękna lekcja tolerancji wobec odmiennych, ale tak podobnych do nas dzieci z innych krajów świata.

That was the beginning of the beautiful friendship and a beautiful lesson about tolerance towards different but also very similar to us children from different countries of the world.
