During october 31'st, the mother of a family with two childen, Jane and Ben asked the kids to go pumpkin picking.

Could you please go pick a pumpkin from the pumpkin patch so we can make a pie?

of course mum!

In their town, there were two pumpkin patches. One of them was always very crowded and the pumpkins were very small and sometimes ripe, and the other one had bright orange beautiful pumpkins that no one ever took because a story said that the patch belongs to an evil witch which that would turn anybody's head  into a pumpkin if they dare try to take one of her amazing pumpkins. the witches' patch was closer to the children's home, so they decided to check that one out for a good pie pumpkin.

when they arrived there, a big round pumpkin caught Ben's eyes but then Jane remembered about the witch story.

don't be a scaredy cat, that's just a story, now help me grab that big one over there!

Ben, i don't think we should get a pumpkin from here, remember this is a cursed patch and we could get in trouble!

But before Ben could get to the pumpkin, a witch appeared right in front of him, becoming petrified as she was looking into his eyes. 

miss witch, i know this is your patch but please don't turn my head into a pumpkin, i'm too young to have a vegetable instead of a head, i'll do anything!

but to his surprise, the "evil witch" was actually neither a witch, neither evil!

me, a witch? i'm not a witch, i'm protecting this patch so no one would steal pumpkins, also this is my halloween costume so sorry for scaring you!

well that's a big relief!

even though Ben knew now that the story was false, he still had a few questions.

I was told not to give out pumpkins for carving jack-o-lanterns and most people wanted them for it so that's why.

But why hasn't anybody took a pumpkin from this patch?

we came here to take a pumpkin for a pie, could you give us one?
