A small choir for a Great Continent

One summer night at the archaeological museum of Patras, in the Cycladic Art Hall, the Pregnant idol woke up from the slumber she had fallen into thousands of years ago. In the dark she distinguished something sparkling on the floor; it was a piece of glass that had fallen from the crashed window she was into.

Suddenly, the lights were on. The guard of the museum and the police officer entered the room and the Pregnant idol decided to pretend that she was still asleep.
By the time you arrived, I had checked all the halls ant they were all locked.

And so they did.
Everything seemed fine, until they reached the broken window and discovered that only one of the five figurines was still there; the Pregnant idol. The Pregnant idol pretending to be asleep, heard the conversation between the two men.
As soon as they left, she sat on the pillow, lit by the moonlight, and she wondered where her friends, the rest of the figurines might be, and what trouble did the Harpist, the Reveler, the Hunter and the Thinker get into.

He took a penknife and started to unbolt the screws of the box. Soon a big hole had been opened. But the intense wind that was entering the box, combined with the lack of attention of the Hunter, took the Reveler out of the box, in a field.

Lying on the wet soil, all alone in the bleakness, the Reveler looked at the van which was speeding away.
It was almost dawn when he made his decision. He would start a big journey in order to find his beloved friends again, overcoming every obstacle he would come along...

We don't know how, they got to Spain, to Tomelloso, where some very kind children picked them up and took care of them.
The figurines were worried about their lost partner, but the love of these children and how wonderful all the places they were shown were, that for a few moments, they forgot about their conern.

They saw a lot of beautiful places and found a figurine very similar to the thinker, but it was CERVANTES! He wrote about the adventures of D. Quixote and Sancho!

Figurines!!!!!, in this prison, Cervantes began to write D. Quixote!

They went on horse to Tomelloso and there they found their partner, The Thinker, who had been lost in the Carro Museum

With the children, they all went to see the center of the city of Tomelloso.

But something happened syddenly, Sancho y D. Quixote had fallen in love with the Figurines and wanted to keep them.

Although a brave TORERO misled D. Quixote and Sancho and the figurines were able to escape and get on a train to.... ITALY!

After a long journey, the figurines arrive in Comiso . They are tired and thirsty .
They look for some water...
They find a fountain in the middle of a nice square , Fonte Diana square . Here they can drink fresh water .

Sitting on the fountain, there's Diana, the goddess of wild animals and the hunt.
She is watching carefully the figurines and she asks: "Who's drinking from my fountain? where are you from?"
The little statues say that they are from Patras but someone stole them from their museum.
The sensible Diana decides to take them to the Natural History Museum of Comiso.
The Natural History Museum of Comiso has a rich collection fossils from different geological era and also several remains of vertebrates.
The paleontological section is dedicated to the origin of life and to the animal evolution.
It's fantastic!!

It's fantastic!!...but I feel homesick
Diana says: " don't worry! I'll help you to come back home".
She takes a big log and tells the figurines: " the waters of the Ippari river will take you home!
...but the Ippari river took them to the wonderful city of Murcia, in the south-east of Spain!!
CARLOS ALCARAZ HAS READ IN THE NEWSPAPER THAT THE FIGURINES HAVE ARRIVED TO MURCIA AND HE DECIDE TO ACCOMPANY THEM TO VISIT THEIR CITY.

THE FIGURINES BEGIN THEIR VISIT TO THE CATHEDRAL AND THE CASINO, ACCOMPANIED BY OUR STUDENTS FROM CEIP LUIS COSTA

THEY GET HUNGRY AND GO TO THE PLAZA DE LAS FLORES TO EAT A MEAT PIE . MMM… YUMMY!!

THEY ARE GOING TO SEE THE RAMÓN GAYA MUSEUM, AND UPON ENTERING, THEY REALIZE THAT ALL THE CHARACTERS IN THE PAINTINGS HAVE COME TO LIFE, INCLUDING CARLITOS ALCARAZ HIMSELF AND THE MURCIAN PAINTER RAMÓN GAYA, WHO PERSONALLY SHOWS THEM ALL ABOUT THE MUSEUM.

HIS VISIT TO THE MUSEUM ENDS, BUT CARLOS IS STILL A PICTURES. THE TENNIS PLAYER IS OVERWHELMED, SINCE HE HAS JUST WON THE INDIAN WELLS TOURNAMENT, AND HAS ANOTHER COMING SOON.
WHAT WILL HE DO TO RECOVER HIS HUMAN FORM?

OUR STUDENTS DECIDE TO HELP HIM, BUT THEY DON'T KNOW VERY WELL HOW TO DO IT.
ONE OF THEM PROPOSE TO BRING A DOZEN EGGS TO SANTA CLARA, TO INTERCEDE FOR THE TENNIS PLAYER.

THEY DECIDE TO GO TO THE CONVENT AND DELIVER THE EGGS.
THE TENNIS PLAYER HAS MIRACULOUSLY RECOVERED HIS HUMAN BODY AND WILL BE ABLE TO RETURN TO HIS TOURNAMENTS.

THE NEXT DAY THE GREEK CYCLADIC FIGURINES HAVE TO GO TO CADAQUES, IN CATALONIA , AND CURIOUSLY IT IS JUAN DE LA CIERVA, THE INVENTOR OF THE GYROBORO, WHO DECIDED TO TAKE THEM TO WARSAW IN HIS PRIVATE PLANE.
THE FIGURINES LEAVE THE CITY OF MURCIA VERY GRATEFUL FOR THE WARM WELCOME.

The figurines arrive at the Cadaqués beach, and they see two people.
- Who are you? They ask.

- I'm Salvador Dalí Domènech, I'm a great artist from Figueres, and she is my muse, Gala.
My land inspires me to paint all kind of dreams to make people feel amazed. Here you can see Port Lligat one of my main sources of inspiration.

We love being here. We have the beach, the sand, the countryside, the good weather and our love.
- Do you want to stay here with us?
The figurines say...
- Nooooooo we have to go to Greece!!!!!!!
They boarded the first ship.
Their travel was very long.
The weather was getting worse and worse.
After a week they saw a new land. It turned out to be Poland

They went by train the biggest city
Warsaw.

The figurines were very tired. The wanted to rest. Luckily they met nice kids from Erasmus choir, who took them to Łazienki Palace.

The figurines saw there the most famous Polish composer
Frederic Chopin, who was playing the piano.

The figurines and the Polish girls startet singing while Chopin was palying the piano.

They were very hungry and ate some muffins...

They went to the Old Town of Warsaw to see the Mermaid. Suddenly something unexpected happend. There were some Croatinan tourists next to the Mermaid. They wantet to take the figurines to Umag... to Croatia to take part in a special concert. The figurines said "yes" because they missed warmer weather, more sun, the palm trees and the blue sea.

Finally in Umag
they have arrived:
meeting new friends
and having some fun!

From the Tower bell by boat to the Pirates' bay and after the concert with Rafael Nadal
and Marin Čilić at the ATP
tennis ground.

Time has come to return back home.
Putting all the memories
in a musical chest-box.
From each country the Figurines
have taken a special souvenir,
bulding a bridge from Greece
to Italy, Poland, Spain
and from Croatia back home,
at the Cycladic museum in Athens.

Only the HARPIST
has not been found,
he has not been seen
on the ground.
His travel is not yet done,
my friend,
he is playing
from a chest in the sand.
If you listen carefully
at that tune,
you will find
a big fortune...

If you listen carefully you will hear
a woderful melody sung by the sea.
This is why we sing
