My family had begun with my oldest brother Logan, then came my brother Mason then came me! Growing up with two older brothers was so much fun. We did everything together!

When I turned four, all my brothers and I could think about was getting a dog. The want for a dog soon became a need!

At first, we were scared to ask our parents. What if they say no and that's it no dog ever. That could not happen so that's when my brothers and I came up with a plan!

For weeks Logan, Mason, and I hide out in our secret hideout, coming up with the perfect plan. There could be no mistakes!

On weekends we would stay up all night imaging what it would be like to have dog. Thinking about the great memories we could have.
But what if it does not work?

After weeks of plotting what we would propose to my parents, it was time to go. My siblings and I knew we were more prepared than ever.

As we slowly walked into our parent's room, butterflies filled my stomach. Doubt rushed to my mind.
What if they do not even listen to our plan?
What if they say we are not ready for a dog?

Hi Mom and Dad! We have a Christmas gift in mind. It is the only thing we are all asking for Christmas... - Logan
Is that so? What would that be? - Mom

Panic of the worst overrode my confidence. What does "Is that so?" mean? Do they know we have been planning on asking for a dog?

Well, yes, it is so. The three of us just want to start off by saying we are ready for this responsibility. - Logan
We even have made a schedule to help with this gift. - Mason

My parent looked at each other and then back at us.
Okay, could we see this schdule you have made? It sounds like you guys are very prepared. - Mom

I slowly handed them the calender we had been making for the past couple of weeks. Details of when we would feed, walk, let out, and play with the new dog were all listed on the three month planner.

My parents did not look very surprised, really no reaction at all.
But! Then a little smile came across both of my parent's faces.

Well, this is great, guys. We will definitely think about this being a gift for Christmas! - Dad

NO WAY! My mind began racing, I am going to have my very own puppy.
My brothers and I had prepared our selves for the worst response that we did not know how to react for the best!

We all huddled in a big hug.
Wait really? Thank you, Mom and Dad! - Mason

Weeks of waiting for the big day felt longer than an entire year. However, waiting for my family's new best friend was so worth it.
Though I was excited, there was no guarantee that we would receive a puppy. My parents made sure that was clear.

Although you all are very prepared for this puppy, which is very important. It is still a gift that santa gets to decide wether or not he gets it for all of you. - Mom
