Preface

Have you ever been grumpy? The little ant in this domestic fiction genre book has. Taking place under the forest floor, we will learn how to deal with our grumpiness together, and to not let it control our whole day! The little ant in this story lets his emotions ruin his entire day. He later learns this isn't the best way to deal with how he is feeling and makes a plan for himself. Some symbolism in the story is the colors of the text. When little ant is grumpy his text is red, when he solves his grumpiness his text is green. The characters in this story are little ant and his mother, each picture takes place in the same setting with similar items. All images are from storyjumper.com. 

It was a busy day on the forest floor, and all the bugs were working.

Every bug except one little ant who was still fast asleep!

"Wake up little ant, it's time to go to work" his Mama Ant yelled!

"No way, I'm staying in bed all day! I am grumpy" he replied!

"If you say so little ant" she said "but you will be especially grumpy later when you have nothing to eat". 

But it was too late the little ant was already asleep 

All the other ants were working very hard to gather food for dinner! 

At the end of the day each ant put their piece of food in the pile so there was just enough to share.

When the little ant awoke and he was starving!

The little ant ran to the pile. Only to realize the last bite was about to be eaten! 

"Oh no" he yelled "please let me have the last bite I'm starving"!   

"Sorry little ant, but there is only enough food for those who helped work today" and he ate the last bite! 

The little ant couldn't believe it Mama Ant was right! Now he was especially grumpy and hungry! 

He did not want to feel this way again he thought! So he stayed up all night to make a plan.
