Once there was a little boy named Alexandre.
He was born on a sunny Sunday,
He was born in the beautiful town of Alexandria
On the Mediterranean Sea in the country of Egypt.
That's why his parents decided to name him Alexandre.

Alexandre already had a strong personality and
Had the great desire to do something heroic one day,
Something that his family and friends would notice,
Something that would allow everybody to call him "Alexandre Le Grand",
Which meant "Alexander the Great" since one spoke French in town.
Something that everybody would talk about!
Above all, Alexandre wanted to be admired, loved by all.
He wanted to be a Hero.
But how could he become a Hero?

One day he decided to go to the beautiful Oasis of Siwa
Because he had heard that there were many amazing animals
That could talk and reveal secrets to humans.
Siwa was a large Oasis in the endless Lybian desert.
It was full of nomads and their camels
Traveling from one exotic destination to another.

The first animal he met on his way was a camel.
It was tall and white and walking in the yellow desert.
Alexandre asked the camel to help him become a Hero!
The camel told Alexandre that he would have to ride on his back
40 days and 40 nights in the desert.
"Being a Hero is being patient in life" said the wise camel.
Alexandre thought about it and decided to try it out.
It shouldn't be that difficult!

But after 20 days and 20 nights Alexandre got
bored and tired of the camel and the whole trip
in the hot desert with neither food nor fun.
He cried so much that his tears began to fill the desert,
and became a vast sea.
All the desert animals had to escape the ocean of tears in order to survive.

Alexandre was upset.
He didn't know what to do. Becoming a Hero wasn't easy!
All of a sudden, a long, green snake appeared on his path,
swallowing a mouse for lunch.
The snake already knew Alexandre's challenge because he could
read the minds of humans.
The snake told him he was the one
That would help him become a Hero.

"It's very easy, the snake hissed, if you want to be a Hero you'll have to be tricky!"
I'll ask you to capture the most beautiful birds in the sky of Siwa
in a giant net and I'll sell them for a great price.
We'll share the bounty and you'll be rich!."
"But how can I attract those birds in the net, snake" said Alexandre.
"You'll place a golden coin in it and the birds attracted by the shiny
light will plunge immediately in it."
Alexandre thought that it was a good trick and that he would be good at it
and become rapidly a Hero. He picked a good spot in the desert for the net
and waited.

He didn't have to wait very long since the most beautiful
and colorful birds he ever saw in his life started to jump
in the net in order to catch the golden coin.
They were trapped immediately!
After an hour, he already had caught fifty of them.
At the end of the day, he had two hundred birds in his net.
The snake congratulated him on his skills.
"Congratulations, Alexandre! You're already a rich boy!
What a Hero you are!"
