One of the most important battles in the Napoleonic Wars. Forced Austria to conclude the Treaty of Pressburg.

Declared religious tolerance, papacy selects popes with approval from Napoleon, church doesn't get land back, church officials take loyalty oath state, revert back to Gregorian Calendar.

Sought to restore political and government stability in France during the French Revolution.

Extensively fought with Napoleon during his reign. Part of the first, second, third, and final coalitions to defeat Napoleon.

Started by the third estate, it was a major revolution caused by political unrest targeted against nobles and nobility rankings.

A device developed during the French Revolution as a humane way to execute someone. Only nobles were granted this luxury.

The island Napoleon was sent to after his failed attempt to take back France when he was sent to Elba. This island was owned by the British and was heavily guarded.

A book written by Jean Jacque Rousseau about being loving and tender to your children. Instead of beating on them as was common in this day in age.

The less radical side of the French Revolution. Were left-wing revolutionaries who wanted to end the reign of Louis XVI through more peaceful means. They were against going to war.

French revolutionaries were against the idea of a king because they wanted a more enlightened/democratic government, not an absolute dictatorship.

The grandson of Louis XV tried escaping France during the revolution with the royal family but was captured and sent to prison.

The more radical side of the French revolutionaries wanted the execution of Louis XVI and wanted war. Initially Robespierre disagree with this but then fully joined them.

is for Napoleon

Genius militarily named himself the first consul, named himself emperor of the French, then Emperor for life. He was finally defeated at the Battle of Waterloo and sent to St. Helena Island.

is for Olympe de Gouges

Wrote Declaration of the Rights of Woman and the Female Citizen. Major women's rights author.

is for Plebiscites

Was a direct yes or no vote in France that was used politically. Napoleon used this a lot to declare more political power over his opponents.
