Young Aylin was trying to get used to her new school. There was a slight look of concern on his face, sad to leave his old school. New faces, new lessons and an unfamiliar environment... Everything was a little foreign to him.
One day, while wandering the corridors, he came across a corner where a lot of students were gathered. Students gathered around a table, deep in thought over the chessboard. While watching the movements of the pieces, Aylin began to wonder how the game of chess was played.
A student approaching her noticed Aylin's thoughts. "Do you want to play chess?" asked the young girl.
Aylin answered sincerely: "I've never tried it, but it interests me. But I don't know how to play it.
The young student said his name as Deniz. She, too, was a newcomer like Aylin once upon a time, and thanks to the chess club, she made new friends and got used to school more quickly.
Aylin was very happy with what she heard. She thanked Deniz and said that she would investigate this game and left.
When he came home, he had a different feeling of happiness. He liked both his desire to learn new things and Deniz's sincere approach towards him.
He fell asleep thinking about these

In his dream he saw himself in a new project, it was an eTwinning project. He started to see himself trying to learn the game of chess as a member of the happy schools project
When Aylin woke up, she remembered her dream. And she felt a strange happiness inside her. It was morning. She started getting ready to go to school. When she went to school, it was as if her dream started to come true. Her teacher talked about a project that had just started in the class. She was asking if there were anyone who wanted to join this project. Aylin was very surprised. Was her dream coming true?

When she got home, she told her mother what happened. For the first time, he happily talked about an event that happened at his school. He said that his mother noticed this change and supported him in entering this project.
The next day, while Aylin was going to school, she was making plans in her mind. First of all, she had to contact students of other schools within the scope of the project. She could get information about the game of chess from them and learn different strategies. During the break, she went to the computer laboratory with permission from her teacher. She went to the eTwinning project's website and started researching other schools'projects. She started preparations to contact students from various countries
At the meeting, they talked about the game of chess. They exchanged information about the chess tactics and strategies of different cultures. While listening to each student's story, Aylin realized that chess is not just a game, but also a bond that brings different people together.
This meeting increased Aylin's desire to learn even more. She would not only learn the rules of chess, but also explore different cultures and make new friendships.
Aylin first came to Havva Aslanoba MTAL, one of the project schools. came. There he met his project partner Yunus.
Yunus Ayline What is chess and what does it bring? he informed.

THE EVOLUTION OF CHESS
Aylin visited another high school, it's name was TEV Hayri Tokaman Vocational and Technical High School. The school had a chess tournament held , therefore she decided to try her chance there. There she met new friends who loved to play chess, too. Ceylin, who was a 10th Grade student at midwife assistant department at this school, greeted her at the school garden.Ceylin was going to help her around school and during the tournament.

Welcome to our school,Aylin!

This is my classroom, everybody is in the garden now .Let's have a quick look at my class and go outside to meet my classmates, They'd love to meet you, too.

In my class, we love spending time together as a class we often bring homemade food, share and eat together with our classmates at luchtime. Afterwards, some of us like me play chess, some of us play volleyball or football or just walk around.

Wow, there are chess tables everywhere here!
Yes, so we can practice and get better before the tournament :)
Aylin and Ceylin talked about the chess tournament, they were both very excited to part in it. They spent a long time practicing. They also discussed the evolution of chess.
For them, the birth of modern chess was in the 19th century. The Romantic Era of chess saw players emphasizing daring attacks and bold sacrifices. The rivalry between Howard Staunton and Pierre Charles Fournier de Saint-Amant captured the imagination of chess enthusiasts and led to the standardization of chess rules. In 1851, the first international chess tournament was held in London, marking a pivotal moment in the game’s global recognition. They were too engaged with the subject they didn't realize the school was over. Thus, they agreed to meet early the next day.
Aylin arrived early in the morning it was thettournament day, she met Ceylin. They were both excited so they decided to walk around to relieve their excitement. They also contiued their chat about recent history of chess.Ceylin said that the 20th century brought about another significant shift in chess dynamics, with the rise of the Soviet Chess School. Players like Mikhail Botvinnik, Anatoly Karpov, and Garry Kasparov dominated the chess world, showcasing meticulous preparation, deep strategic understanding, and innovative tactics. The Soviets’ rigorous training methods and contributions to chess theory had a lasting impact on the games. Aylin agreed to a great extent.

Good morning, are you ready for the tournament?
Not sure I am, I am nervous a little bit.

I see you are really informed about chess.
Aylin had also gathered some information about the technology involved in chess so she continued; As the 20th century turned into the 21st, a new dimension was added to the evolution of chess: the rise of chess engines. Computers had begun to challenge human players, and in 1997, IBM’s Deep Blue defeated world champion Garry Kasparov in a historic match. This event marked a pivotal moment in the history of chess, illustrating the growing role of artificial intelligence in shaping the game.
Since then, chess engines have evolved dramatically. Advanced algorithms, deep neural networks, and immense processing power have turned these engines into formidable opponents and invaluable tools for players. Modern chess engines, such as Stockfish and AlphaZero, are capable of analyzing positions with incredible depth, providing insights that were once beyond human comprehension. These engines have not only transformed competitive chess but have also enriched the study of the game by uncovering hidden nuances and novel strategies.

Hey, let's start the tournament, it's time.
Yeah, hurry up!
The tournament took place at the school library. Ceylin and Aylin were really good at the tournament and had a lot of fun playing the games. When the tournament was over, they came together again to congratulate each other. They also talked about the latest and biggest chess champions in the world. They made a search on the net about the subject and saw that the FIDE World Chess Championship 2006 reunified the titles, when Kramnik beat the FIDE World Champion Veselin Topalov and became the undisputed World Chess Champion. In September 2007, Viswanathan Anand from India became the next champion by winning a championship tournament. In October 2008, Anand retained his title, decisively winning the rematch against Kramnik. Anand retained his title until 2013, when he lost it to Magnus Carlsen from Norway. Carlsen defended his title four times.
However, Carlsen declined to defend his title in the 2023 championship, and thus relinquished it to the winner of that match, Ding Liren, the current World Champion. Since 2020, online chess has seen a boom in popularity due in part to internet livestreaming
Aylin said goodbye to Ceylin and thanked her a lot for her hospitality. They agreed to meet againg soon.

Come again!
I will surely do, my friend!
