The Legend of the Lights of Knowledge was created as part of the project "We Are eTwinning: Celebrating 20 Years" in response to the             challenge to discover the identity of the two characters from the logo. It was written by teacher Janka Lastičová, who wrote it, and her 3.A class from the Church United School in Dolný Kubín. The text was translated by 7th-grade students under the guidance of teacher Mária Luptáková.

Povesť o svetlách poznania

    Kedysi dávno v krajine učenia žil učiteľ, ktorý veril, že vzdelávanie môže byť viac než len slová v knihách. Túžil po svete plnom spolupráce, tvorivosti a radosti z objavovania. Odvážne otvoril dvere svojej triedy pre iných, aby neúnavne inšpiroval tých, ktorým vzdelávanie žiakov nebolo ľahostajné. Zasieval nové myšlienky, skúšal inovatívne prístupy a hľadal spôsoby, ako rozžiariť pri učení detské očká. 

                The legend of the Lights of Knowledge

    Once upon a time, in the land of learning, there lived a teacher who knew that education could be more than just words in books. He longed for a world full of collaboration, creativity, and the joy of discovery. He boldly opened the doors of his classroom to others, tirelessly inspiring those who cared about their students' education. He sowed new ideas, tried innovative approaches, and looked for ways to make children's eyes shine with learning.

    Pomaly sa k nemu pridávali ďalší kolegovia. Boli ako neúnavné kvapky v mori, ich nápady sa spájali a hlasy silneli. Vďaka moderným technológiám prekročili brány mnohých škôl i hranice štátov. Každý do výučby priniesol niečo jedinečné a inšpiratívne. Ani na okamih nezabúdali na podporu jeden druhého, pretože vedeli, že skutočná sila vzdelávania spočíva v spolupráci, nie v rivalite.     

    Slowly, other colleagues joined him. They were like tireless drops in the ocean, their ideas merging and their voices growing stronger. Thanks to modern technologies, they crossed the gates of many schools and state borders. Each brought something unique and inspiring to the teaching. They never forgot for a moment to support each other's education, because they knew that true strength lies in cooperation, not in rivalry.

      Tie malé modré kvapky mocneli, rozrastali sa, až sa nebadane zmenili na nádherného modrého panáčika menom Etwin s otvorenou náručou, ktorá ponúka pomoc a pocit bezpečia.

    Those little blue drops grew stronger, grew bigger, and before they knew it, they turned into a beautiful blue little figure named Etwin with open arms offering help and a sense of security.

    Jedného dňa, keď sa Etwin zastavil na krátky odpočinok, všimol si niečo zvláštne. Semienka poznania, ktoré zasial nielen rástli, ale žiarili. Najprv iba tlmene, nesmelo, no s každým novým dňom ich svetlo silnelo. 

    One day, when Etwin stopped for a short rest, he experienced something strange. The seeds of knowledge he had sown not only grew, but shone. At first, only dimly, timidly, but with each new day, their light grew stronger.

    Malé iskričky zvedavosti a nadšenia v očiach žiakov vzplanuli ohňom poznania. Spolupráca prinášala svoje ovocie. Každý vniesol do tímovej práce niečo iné - jeden mal neuveriteľnú fantáziu, druhý dokázal spájať myšlienky, ďalší nachádzal riešenia tam, kde ostatní videli prekážky. Ich tvorivosť sa prelínala a rástla. 

    Small sparks of curiosity and enthusiasm in the eyes of the students ignited with the fire of knowledge. The cooperation brought  fruitful. Everyone brought something different to the teamwork - one had to discover something imaginative, the other was able to connect ideas, other solutions where the others saw obstacles. Their creativity intertwined and grew.

    Svetlo nadšenia bolo také silné, že z neho narástol žltý panáčik Winning – symbol učenia, objavovania, tvorivosti a víťazstva, ktorý sa dodnes každým dňom rozrastá a čaká na nové dobrodružstvá.

    The light of enthusiasm was so strong that it grew into a yellow Winning figure – a symbol of learning, discovery, creativity and victory, which continues to grow every day and awaits new adventures.

    Odvtedy Etwin a Winning putujú svetom ruka v ruke. Modrý panáčik sa stal pevným základom a oporou vzdelávania. Otvára náruč, vedie a inšpiruje. Žltý panáčik spoznáva, tvorí, objavuje a prináša novú nádej. Ligotavé hviezdy osvetľujúce celú krajinu učenia sú odrazom sily spolupráce, inovácie, priateľstva, kreativity a inšpirácie.

    Since then, Etwin and Winning have been traveling around the world hand in hand. The blue stick figure has become a solid foundation and support for education. It opens its arms, guides and inspires. The yellow stick figure learns, creates, discovers and brings new hope. The twinkling stars illuminating the entire landscape of learning are a reflection of the power of cooperation, innovation, friendship, creativity and inspiration.
