People in these colder places such as the Artic and Antartica build igloos from blocks of ice and snow. Igloos help keep people warm because the snow is a great insulator!

Now lets take a look at houses in very hot and dry places, like parts of Africa. 

People who live in very hot and dry places such as Africa build homes from mud bricks. These homes stay cool inside, even when it’s very hot outside!

Now lets take a look at places in the world with thick tropical rainforests such as Central and South America, western and central Africa, western India, Southeast Asia. 

In tropical rainforests, people use bamboo to build houses. Bamboo is strong and grows quickly, so it’s a great material for building homes in places with lots of rain.
