Once upon a time in the city of Kitchener there lived a girl named Izzy. Izzy lived with her mother and although they were very poor Izzy was happy. One day Izzy's mother said she couldn't care for her any more and she would have to be put up for adoption.

"Mommy I don't want to be put up for adoption I want to stay with you". Izzy cried.
"I know darling but you deserve a better life than what I can give you". her mother replied. After more tears and more pleading to stay they left for the adoption center.

After a few weeks at the adoption center, right before Christmas, they found a new family for Izzy.
All should have been perfect but, her new family didn't treat her well and one day shortly after the new year began; Izzy ran away and lived in a abandoned house.

One day as the three girls named Tammy, Riley and Elena were walking home from school they saw someone digging in a garbage can.
"Hey guys look! There's a girl digging in a garbage can let's see if she needs help". said Tammy.

"Excuse me little girl! Why are you digging in a garbage can"? asked Tammy.
"I am hungry and haven't eaten in three days". She replied.

"Why haven't you eaten in three days"? asked Tammy.
"Are you by any chance homeless"? asked Elena.
"Yes I am how did you know? she enquired.
"You look like a girl I used to know that lived in my neighbourhood". Elena answered.

"What's your name, you look familiar as well". said the girl.
"My name is Elena, what is yours"? she asked.
"My name is Izzy". she replied

"Izzy it's me, Elena Patterson "! exclaimed Elena.
"Oh my gosh hi Elena I thought I would never see you again". Izzy replied
"Me either, what are you doing out here on the streets"? Elena asked.

"I don't have anywhere to live anymore". Izzy explained.
"That's awful where is your mom"? asked Elena.
"My mom couldn't take care of me any more so they put me up for adoption. But my adoptive family treated me horribly so I ran away and have been living in a abandoned house" . Izzy explained sadly.

"Excuse me Izzy, I need to talk to my sisters". she said.
"Guys we need to help her, she is my friend we can't leave her out here in the streets in the middle of the winter"! she exclaimed.
"We agree, what do you want to do"? they asked.
