Leo and Jake loved to play soccer together after school. Leo would always challenge Jake saying things like "I bet I can score on you first try."

"Where is Jake? He's normally home by now."
All of the sudden Leo and Jake no longer got the chance to play soccer. Jake would not get home until after dark these days.
However the following day they went to the candy store together.

"Can we go home after this to play soccer?"
"Not until we make a stop."

Leo didn't recognize where Jake had took him. He was a little nervous when they got there.
"Um Jake where are we?"
"Wait in the car, i'll be out in a minute."

Leo was hoping it would be a quick trip so they could play soccer before sundown.

Leo was confused what Jake got from the store. It seemed like a little ticket, Leo observed that Jake played with it until it made him sad.
"Ugh I can't believe I lost again! It's okay I will be rich some day from a lucky ticket."

The next day Grandma Rose was gardening in their backyard. Leo had considered this a good time to ask about Jake.

"Grandma, why does Jake stay out late and always buy tickets to play with?"
Grandma Rose had thought they should go inside to talk.
"Leo why don't we head inside to talk about your brother."

“ I used to think I could win at everything just by being lucky. But luck isn’t something you can hold on to. It comes and goes. What really matters, are the choices you make every day."
Grandma Rose decided to tell Leo a story to help him understand Jake's ticket obsession.
Leo began to understand. He wanted to help Jake as he did not like to see him sad. He figured he would talk to his friend Mia about it to try and help.

Leo and Mia had a unique idea for a new way Jake could use his money instead of the tickets.
"How should we help Jake?"
"What if we encouraged him to put his money in a jar and save for fun activities you two can do together!"
Leo was very excited to share the idea with Jake.

When Jake got home later that day Leo shared his idea.
"Jake! I have a great idea for us. I think you should put your money in this jar instead of towards those tickets! We can call it the Lucky Jar!"
