It was a rainy, windy day.
 The wind whooshed! The rain splashed!

Inside a twisty tower, Dr. Frankenstein was working on something very exciting.

"I'm going to build a brand-new friend!" he said.

Igor was Dr. Frankenstein’s cheerful assistant.
 He wore big round glasses, two different socks, and always tried his very best.

“I need your help,” said the doctor. 

“We have to build the body piece by piece. Bring me ONE part at a time. I’ll tell you what’s next when you get back.”

Igor saluted. “Aye aye, Doctor!”

Off Igor went, down the twisty tunnels to the science lab across town.

He came back with a leg.
“Great! Now get an arm,” said the doctor.

He came back with an arm.
“Perfect! Now a foot!”

Igor ran back and forth, bringing each piece  just like he was told.

Finally, the doctor said, “Now, go get the head!”

Igor zoomed off.

But when he reached the lab... oh no! All the people heads were gone.

Except one.

It was round. It had eyes. It had... whiskers?

"A cat’s head?" Igor said. 

“Well... it is a head. And that’s what he asked for!”

So he carefully brought it back.

Back at the tower, lightning flashed! Machines beeped!
Igor flipped the switch!

The body on the table began to wiggle... then sit up...

“It’s ALIIIIVE!” cheered the doctor.

The sheet flew off.

“MEOW?!”

The body was perfect…
Except for one tiny detail.

It had the head of a cat!

“IGOR!” shouted the doctor. 

“That’s not the head I meant!”

Igor blinked. 

“Oh… I thought you meant ANY head.”

The doctor sighed… then chuckled.

“Well, I guess I wasn’t very clear!”

The cat-headed creature yawned, then curled up for a nap.

“Next time,” Igor said, “let’s make a list.”

Dr. Frankenstein took a deep breath.

“Igor it's time we make that list”

Igor got excited.   

“Great this time I won't mess up.”

They both sat down and wrote the list.

With the new list at hand the Doctor sent Igor off to gather the new parts.

Igor carefully checked the list.

He Read off

“Left leg Check”

“Right leg Check”

“Left arm Check”

“Right arm Check”

“Torso Check”

“Human head Check”
