Hi Patchy! Welcome to Greece!
This is the Parthenon, one of the most important ancient buildings in the world. It stands on the Acropolis of Athens, high above the city.
The Parthenon was built almost 2,500 years ago to honor Athena, the goddess of wisdom and protector of Athens. It was made of white marble and decorated with beautiful sculptures showing scenes from Greek myths. Even though it has been damaged over time, it still shows the skill, creativity, and power of ancient Greek civilization!

The tomb was discovered by Bulgarian soldiers digging an air raid shelter in 1944. It is also the first Bulgarian monument included in the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1979. It dates from the late 4th century BC. - the beginning of the 3rd century BC and is believed to have belonged to the Thracian ruler Roigos. It consists of an entrance hall, a corridor and a burial chamber. According to archaeologists, two corpses are deposited in the tomb - a man and a woman, which are assumed to be the ruler and his wife. This tomb is the only completely preserved one from this era in Bulgaria and one of the most attractive to visit in Europe. In order to preserve the frescoes as much as possible, access to the original tomb is strictly prohibited. But that shouldn't bother you because there is an exact copy right next to the original.

Hello, Patchy! Are you ready for a time-travel adventure in Romania? Welcome to Peleș Castle! This is where the movie “A Christmas Prince” (2017) was filmed.
Imagine a castle straight out of a fairy tale with princes and princesses, perched on a mountain (in Sinaia) and surrounded by a beautiful forest. Well, this castle is 100% real and it’s right here in Romania! When King Carol I built it (over 100 years ago), Peleș was the most modern place in all of Europe!
It had electricity! It was the first castle in Europe to have its own power source. While others were using candles, Peleș was flipping the light switch.
It had an elevator! An elevator just for the king and queen.
It had central heating! No one was cold, unlike in those old, chilly castles you see in movies.
Peleș Castle is like Romania’s “business card.” It’s a magical place.

Hello Patchy! Welcome to Canary Islands, in Spain!
The Maspalomas Dunes are in the south of Gran Canaria.
They are very big and beautiful. The sand is golden and soft.
The wind moves the sand every day.
There is a lagoon next to the dunes.
The lagoon is called “La Charca de Maspalomas.”
Many birds live near the lagoon.
You can see ducks, herons, and seagulls.
There are also palm trees and small plants.
The dunes, the lagoon, and the beach make a special place.
People visit to walk, take photos, and enjoy nature.
We must protect the dunes and keep them clean.
