Two friends, Vivaan, a scientist, and Adam, an archaeologist, were at their camp researching on the hottest day ever! 
“It’s so hot out in the Sahara!” Vivaan said.
“I know!” Adam said. “I heard that there’s a new dig site nearby!”

“The manager said that they might need us there to help!” Vivaan said.
“They say that it is one of the largest sites in the Sahara!” Adam said.
“Did you know that Gobero in Niger is considered the largest?” Vivaan said, reading a page from a research book. 
“Wow!” said Adam, “Well lets continue our research.”
“Ok,” said Vivaan
Just as they were about to continue researching, the manager burst into the tent!
“I have some news for you,” he said.

“What?” asked Vivaan

“They need help at the dig site,” he said
“Ok, Vivaan and I will head there right now!” exclaimed Adam.
Vivaan and Adam went outside, got into a Jeep, and started driving to the dig site.

    “Ahh, the breeze feels so good!” Vivaan exclaimed. 

“I wish it would rain,” Adam said. “It is so rare in the Sahara, only about 3 inches fall each year!” 

Suddenly, Adam shouted, “Vivaan, look to your left! There's a sandstorm!” Adam was right. A sandstorm as big as California was heading straight for them! The wind grew stronger and stronger.                                             

“WHAT DO WE DO?” Vivaan screamed.                                                                “GRAB THE RADIO!” Adam yelled.                                                                        “IT'S OUT OF BATTERIES!” Vivaan replied. “TAKE COVER AND PUT YOUR HOOD ON!!” Adam shouted! They both closed all the windows and took cover.

   Soon, the sandstorm had ended. Tons of fine-grained sand, as small as atoms, had entered! Both Adam and Vivaan were covered in tons of sand. 

“It’s so itchy!” Adam said

“I know, right?” groaned Vivaan.

“Did you know that there is approximately 1.5 septillion grains of sand in the Sahara?” Adam said.
“Wow”!, Vivaan said.

They both wiped off the sand and went back in the jeep.

“Oh no!” Adam exclaimed!
“What happened?” Vivaan asked.

“The jeep is broken!” Adam worriedly said.

What about the Map and compass?” Vivaan asked.

“Well, the compass is filled with sand, and I think we lost the map”, Adam said.

“What do we do now?” Vivaan said.

“We just have to wait for the helicopter to find us”. Adam sadly said.
