eTwinning project Emotions and Musical Notes

In the kindergarten classroom at Seher Vuslat Aytemiz Primary School in Türkiye, an old notebook on a shelf seemed indistinguishable to everyone. Its cover was colorful, but nothing was written on it. No one thought it was special. One day, little Miray Ela, the only one drawing in the class, noticed the notebook. She opened it, the pages unfolded, and a soft melody emerged. As the melody played, the child felt happy and safe. Her heart began to beat to the rhythm. This music was a rhythm unique to her country. There was only one sentence on the page: "This music describes the feelings of your heart." After a while, the melody faded away. The notebook closed… and the next day it disappeared. Where was the notebook now, and who had it?

The next morning, the classroom at Kurtuluş Şehit Uğur Şahin Kindergarten was buzzing with activity. A colorful, blank notebook gleamed on the top shelf of the book corner. Ali Asım was thrilled. As soon as he opened the notebook, the pages quickly turned, a cheerful melody filling the classroom. Suddenly, Ali Asım found himself on a soft cloud. A sentence shone in his notebook: “If you have imagination, the sky becomes a path.” A flower appeared in the sky. Ali Asım climbed upwards, tapping on the notes. When he touched the golden strings of the sun, the light transformed into stars. Then he found himself soaring on a giant kite. The melody faded. When Ali Asım opened his eyes, he was back in the classroom. The notebook was still there, its effects still present. At that very moment, the notebook floated towards the sky, and then, it sprouted wings.
This notebook finds the child who uses their imagination… and sends them on a new adventure.

When Zeynep arrived at school that morning, she noticed the notebook on the desk in the classroom. As soon as she opened the cover, tiny bird sounds rose from the pages.
Zeynep found herself walking on a path made of flowers.
With each step, the colors changed, and butterflies danced.
A new sentence shone in the notebook:
“The more joyful your heart, the more colorful the world becomes.”
Suddenly, the sky turned pink and blue. When Zeynep smiled, the flowers bloomed even more.
Then…hop!
She was back in the classroom. But she had something in her pocket:
a tiny, shining seed of a dream…

Arya saw the empty, colorful notebook sitting on the swing in the schoolyard. When she opened it, the pages turned by themselves, and a delicate melody spread. For a moment, she found herself on the beach; the waves shimmered like musical notes, and the wind carried the melody. One sentence in the notebook stood out: "Courage makes your heart grow." When the melodies faded, Arya found herself in the classroom. She held a tiny seashell in her hand; when she heard it, she heard a very faint sound. Meanwhile, the notebook had quietly moved away and disappeared towards the window.

Deniz stumbled, tripping over something. Bending down, she saw a notebook lying on the ground. Opening it, she found the pages blank; no writing, no color. But at that moment, a melody began to rise from the pages.
A gentle breeze carried Deniz to the shade of a plane tree. As the leaves rustled in the wind, a soft melody emerged. This melody touched Deniz's heart, and she began to dance to the notes. Her healing became a little easier, a little stronger. It was as if the roots of the plane tree were giving her courage, its branches teaching her to reach for the sky. After a while, everything fell silent. Deniz was in her schoolyard. Looking at her feet, the notebook was gone.
Perhaps it was being carried away on the wings of a wind, setting out to whisper courage into another child's heart.

Emir, a kindergarten student at Muhsin Yazıcıoğlu Primary School, found a colorful, empty notebook on the floor of the school's gymnasium. The notebook shone brightly. Curious, he opened it.
Suddenly, the pages turned by themselves. Soft music filled the gymnasium. The area around the basketball hoop became like the sky. Emir saw himself bouncing on the clouds. Each step he took made a sweet "pıt pıtt" sound.
A sentence suddenly flashed in the notebook:
"Be brave, and your heart will grow."
The music slowly faded. A tiny, bright star appeared in Emir's hand. He looked at the star and smiled.
Then the notebook flew towards the door and disappeared. Which other children, needing music and love, would find this notebook?

When we arrived at school today, it seemed very quiet and uneventful to all of us. There was a quietness in all the children; even Cemal, the funniest, was silent. The teacher asked why they were like that. Zeynep said, "I don't know, teacher, we're just very unhappy today." The teacher said, "Let's get ready for breakfast." When we opened the door to go to the breakfast room, we saw a large, colorful book on the floor. The children were very excited and surprised. They all wondered who left it, why it was there, and what a beautiful notebook it was. We took the notebook into the classroom, and they immediately wanted to read it. There was a button on the cover; when we pressed it, the cover opened, and butterflies danced and flew around the classroom. The children joined in with the butterflies. The music was so beautiful it captivated everyone who heard it. We left the notebook on the table and went to lunch. When we came back to the classroom, the notebook wasn't there. We searched everywhere but couldn't find it. We thought maybe it had gone to entertain other children... Mahinur ERCAN

An ordinary morning in a kindergarten in Lithuania. Children gather, greeting their teacher and friends. But for Rasa, this morning doesn’t feel happy. She says goodbye to her mother reluctantly, wishing she could stay at home. While others play, she quietly sits alone.
Suddenly, she notices a strange notebook she has never seen before. It seems to be calling her. Looking around, she realizes no one else can see it. Curious, she opens it. A soft, sad melody begins to play—just like she feels. Then, the pages suddenly fill with bright rainbow colors, as if the notebook comes to life. In the middle appears a sentence: “Feelings are colorful like a rainbow—every one of them matters.” A lighter, happier melody follows, and Rasa feels her mood lift. She smiles and runs to join the other children. When she later remembers the notebook, it has already disappeared.

The next morning, a magical notebook quietly landed on the windowsill in kindergarten. Light snowflakes were falling outside the window, and the children were drawing in winter. Matas sat thoughtfully. He had no luck drawing a snowman - something kept failing. He sighed... and then he saw a colorful notebook. "It's strange... he really wasn't there yesterday," he thought. As soon as Matas opened it, a gentle melody of kanklii could be heard in the kindergarten group. It was so cozy, like a grandmother's fairy tale by the fireplace. Suddenly the floor turned into white snow, and the ceiling into a starry sky. Matas stood on a snowy hill.
The sentence flashed on the page: "Each feeling is unique - like a snowflake, it has its own beauty."
Snowflakes began to fall around him. Each one was different. None of them were perfect. All of them were beautiful.
Matas smiled. When the music stopped, he sat back in the group. His drawing of the snowman was crooked, but cheerful. And the most beautiful.
The notebook quietly closed and....

The next morning, Morta walked into the hall and noticed a notebook lying on the piano. Its cover was worn and faded. She had never seen it before. As soon as Morta touched the notebook, a melody began to play.
Excited, Morta ran out of the hall to find her friends and show them the magical notebook. But when she returned with the other children, the piano was bare. The notebook had vanished. Only the window stood open, and the curtains fluttered in the breeze.

The notebook did not disappear forever. It was only traveling, quietly, from one child to another, guided by feelings that needed warmth and light. One windy afternoon, it landed gently on the windowsill of a small classroom where a child was sitting alone, looking outside. The room was calm, but the child’s heart felt heavy. As the notebook opened, a soft and comforting melody filled the air. The pages glowed with warm colors, and a new sentence appeared: “Every heart shines brighter when it is understood.”
Suddenly, the child felt surrounded by tiny glowing lights, like friendly stars dancing in the air. Each light carried a whisper of kindness, courage, and hope. The child smiled for the first time that day and reached out to touch them. When the melody slowly faded, the lights turned into a small glowing bookmark inside the notebook. The notebook closed softly, as if satisfied.
Then, with a gentle flutter of its wings, it rose into the sky once again, ready to find the next child who needed a little magic, music, and love.

That morning Roberto was sad because he had not shared their favorite toy car with his best friend Christian, and so Christian had preferred to play with other children, leaving Roberto alone. Roberto felt very sad and also very angry. Suddenly he was captured by a beam of light coming from a shelf of the classroom bookcase. He approached and noticed a notebook of a thousand colors. Curious, he grabbed it and as soon as he opened it, a sweet enchanting melody spread out and enveloped him like a warm and affectionate embrace. Roberto found himself in a magical place where there were children from all over the world singing and dancing around a yellow jasmine tree. Every time a childjoined the circle, everyone’s heart began to shine, and every time a child said a kind word or gave a caress or a hug, the music became more and more cheerful and engaging, the light more and more radiant, and the jasmine tree more and more in bloom. While the melody was playing, Roberto felt happy and serene again. Suddenly the music faded away and that beam of light appeared again. Roberto opened his eyes and found himself in the classroom, so he ran toward his friend Christian, hugged him very, very tightly, and placed the red toy car in his hand. The notebook reappeared and a new sentence shone: “It only takes a small gesture to make love sprout.” Then the notebook floated toward the sky and disappeared.

One morning, Stella came to kindergarten feeling sad. She had argued with her mother, and her heart felt heavy. She sat quietly, not wanting to play. Suddenly, the Musical Notebook opened, and a soft, slow melody filled the room. The music sounded just like her feelings. After a while, the melody changed. It became warmer and brighter. Stella took a deep breath and said softly, “I am angry with my mom… but I love her.” The children created a gentle rhythm together, and Stella began to smile again. Before the Notebook closed, she wrote:
“Music helps when words are difficult.” And the Musical Notebook travelled on, carrying her feelings with it.

The next day, the Musical Notebook arrived again. But this time, the classroom was not calm.
Two children were arguing over a toy. Their voices were loud. Their faces were red. Suddenly… the music stopped.
The Notebook would not open. The children froze. “Maybe it doesn’t like shouting,” someone whispered.
Slowly, one child said, “I was angry.” The other replied, “I was angry too.”
The Notebook opened gently. A soft rhythm began — not sad, not happy — just steady. The children looked at each other. “I don’t want to fight,” one said.
“Me neither,” said the other. The rhythm grew brighter. That day they learned something new: *Music does not erase emotions. It helps us understand them.* And the Musical Notebook continued its journey, carrying a new melody — the melody of forgiveness.

But its journey was not over. One rainy afternoon, the notebook appeared once more. This time no one was angry. No one was sad. The chlildren were simply..quiet. The notebook opened by itself.
A gentle tune began to play-light and curious, like tiny drops dancing. "What feeling is this?" one child whispered. It was not anger. It was not sadness. It was not even happiness. It was hope.
The Musical Notebook did not just play melodies anymore. It was teaching them how to find their own. And as the rain slowly stopped and a small rainbow appeared children understood something important:Feelings are like music. They change, they move, they pass.
But when we listen carefully, they can guide us to kidness.

On each page of the musical notebook were small drawings: a flower, a shell, a star, a snowflake, a kite.
On its pages shone the messages and memories of all the children who had discovered it.
At dawn the next day, the notebook rose gently into the air and began to fly over the seas and continents. Before leaving, a new sentence appeared on its cover: “Wherever there is a child who feels, there is a melody.” And so, the musical notebook continued its journey around the world, carrying with it the emotions, music and messages of children from all countries.
The notebook will always appear where a child needs to be listened to.
