I dedicate this book to my great grandpa as it was inspired from his voyage from Ireland to Boston.

It was a dark and glumly summer in Ireland 1870 when Anna stepped outside and noticed yet another failure of her crops. She was frightened and instantly told her family.

Apparently before she was born there was similar behavior from the potato famine. The family was struggling so Anna had no choice but to go to the United States to build a life for them.
So she set off and headed to Ellis Island to get processed. The lines were insanely long, so she grew to be very unpatient while waiting her turn.

Finally, the time came for her to be inspected. Thankfully, she could speak English fairly well and passed with flying colors. Then, she was set free and started her voyage to Boston.

Once she arrived she immediately used the small cash she had and bought herself a tenement. It wasn't much but it was home.

Days passed and she soon had a community and felt a part of something bigger than herself. She faced some discrimination but continued to strive for her family's sake.

Next, Anna sought out a job. She had to be realistic but not bored to death. Farming was okay but she craved more. Therefore, she took the chance and became a seamstress.
With this change she could do what she loved and rack up cash. While she wasn't working Anna went to the catholic church or the local school to learn.

Although she has a good journey so far, she faced hardships too. Anna faced against prejudice and inequality during her time in Boston. In response she protested to stand up for what was right.
After weeks of work and passion she finally could let her family come over. She also found the love of her life, Walker. She had everything she ever wanted.

20 Years Later
It was now 20 years later. Things had started to change in America, and a lot had happened. It was now a time of progression and Anna was not holding back.
