for lucky and shy, my cats, for seeing things we can't...

Chapter 1 — The First Night
I knew something was wrong.
The temperature dropped, even though the windows were closed.
My mom always told me not to go outside after sunset.
She never told me why.
But tonight…
I was about to find out.

I live across from the biggest bully in our school, Madison.
As I peeked through the window,
I saw her stepping outside with a trash bag,
rolling her eyes like the warnings meant nothing.
It moved slowly, taller than the trees,
its shape breaking apart in the porch light.
It made a loud, low moan.
A monster.
The trash bag slipped from her hand
as the air dropped to freezing.
I closed my eyes.
she was gone.
back toward the forest.
everything was normal.
Until it wasn’t.
A girl… but not.
White eyes. No pupils.
I ran outside.
She twisted into something unnatural.
chapter three: the red ones. I ran to my room, but something stopped me in my tracks. it was a small, stickman like red figure. it waved, and I screamed. it shook its head, and said "too loud." and its eyes grew a yellow glow. but time went back, but this time, I clamped my mouth shut. the figure nodded and said "good."
chapter 4: the black ones. I went to school, but when I was walking, a little kid was crying. so I bent down and asked "hey little guy, what's wrong?" but he turned to me, grinning. he was like a shadow. he ran towards my arm and bit me. hard. I felt blood trickling down my sleeve, and I said "you think you can get away with this?" I grabbed him, pushing him away from me. he ran out, and came back 5 minutes later with a large black figure.
