The Tuskegee Airmen were made up of:

-Benjamin O. Davis Jr.

-Charles "Chief" Anderson

-Lee A. Archer Jr.

-Charles McGee

-Daniel "Chappie" James

The Tuskegee Airmen were the first African - American military aviators in the US Army Air Corps, trained at Alabama's Tuskegee Institute during WWII. they were also known as The 332nd Fight Group or the Red Tails.

The Tuskegee Airmen started training in June 1941 at The Moton Field in Alabama.

In June 1943, combat begins for them with strafing missions in Tunisia and the invasion of Sicily, known as Operation Husky. 

By The end of the war, they had shot down 112 enemy aircraft in the air and destroyed another 150 on the ground.

They fought in North Africa, specifically Morocco and Tunisia, in April 1943. Then in early 1944, they fought over Sicily and Italy. Then from mid-1944 till the end of the war, they fought in Germany and surrounding Axis territory, primarily Austria and Italy.
