   Elizabeth Fritz was a 9 year old girl, from Ghana. 

She had a best friend named Maryanne , who was 

also 9. They were the best bffs in the entire school.  

Then one day, it all started.

   Lizzy looked outside of her bedroom window, as she 

pulled out her pink boots and slipped them on. Lizzy 

always wore her pink boots on a Wednesday. But 

today, she really had to and she really wanted to. "Liz 

---- PEANUT! YOU READY FOR SCHOOL!!!" Yelled 

Jackie, Lizzy's big sister. "COMING!" Lizzy called back, 

grabbing her backpack and running upstairs.

   Lizzy stepped out of her sister's Ford and ran up the steps 

to her school, catching up with Maryanne quickly.   "Lizzy! 

There you are!" Said Maryanne hugging Lizzy till she 

coughed, then Amaru - Lanai   Bangui came up and poked 

Lizzy and Maryanne, " Listen Bratwursts! I'M waiting for my 

best friend here. So, I DON'T need you coughing on me." 

Said Amaru - Lanai. Lizzy stepped quickly out of the way and 

moved to another black pole, yet Maryanne didn't move a 

muscle, " You listen up little miss! You can move your butt 

right along!" Said Maryanne who poked Amaru - Lanai back. 

Amaru-Lanai yelped and ran to go hug her friend, and tell her 

friend about Maryanne who glared at Amaru - Lanai.   

 "I still can't believe you stood up to Amaru - Lanai." Said 

Lizzy, shutting her locker and running with Maryanne to get to 

lunch

" Yeah, but I did! So Yaaaaaaayyyyyy!" Cried 

Maryanne happily.

                               ***

     The next day Lizzy slipped on her sneakers 

and put on her plaid, blue shirt and pulled on her 

black shorts. Today was the day SHE would 

step up to   Amaru - Lanai.

She walked to school that day, and she saw 

Amaru. Amaru saw Lizzy looking at her. Amaru 

ran across the street and shoved Lizzy into the 

big, hole by Lizzy's neighbors house.
