Patrick. The name gives me so much pain. He left me. He is gone. I love him and all he did was lie because apparently he never loved me. I'm broken but after my parents threatened to send me away I decided that I needed to stop the pity party and move on. I'm going to move on from him but in order to do this I need to leave. This place, Trenton, New Jersey. My grandmother left

her house and her money to me when she passed away. So that's where I will go. This town better watch out because I changed. Long Island, New York here I come. I, Grace Nelson, will not go down without a fight.

Chapter 1

"Mom, dad, I'm home.", I said in a bored tone. I didn't hear anything in return but when I walked into the living room they were sitting on the couch and by the look they were giving me I knew that something is wrong.

"Grace, honey you know we love you right and that we only want what's best for. The way you have been reacting since the day he left isn't

healthy so we decided. I mean your father and I decided that we", before my mom could finish I cut her off.

"Mom I know I haven't been reacting good so I decided that I'm going to move into grandma's house that she left me. I need a change of scenery. It will be good for me.", I told them trying to convince them but at the

same time trying to convince myself.

Dad sighed, "If that is what you want then I will support you on your decision.", he told me reluctantly. That was four hours ago. So here I am packing only the essentials because I will be going shopping for a new look when I get there. My flight is at 9 a.m. tomorrow. I set my alarm for 7 and fell asleep.

Chapter 2

I'm on the plane counting how many minutes I've been sitting here, trying not to think back to the goodbyes. My dad has never been good with emotions so when he gave me a real hug I knew this was tough on him and my mom was crying up a storm. I didn't want to see them like that again so I gave them my goodbyes, picked up my bags, and took my seat on the plane.

This ride couldn't be any longer. The guy next to me looked like he was in his mid twenties. Don't get me wrong he was good looking but he wouldn't stop talking. So when the pilot said we would be landing in ten minutes I couldn't be happier. When we landed I was thinking of what the future will bring but then I started thinking about the past and all the good times we had even if they were pretend. I was thinking so

much that ran into a wall except it wasn't a wall. When I looked up I saw the most beautiful human being I have ever set my eyes on. When he caught me staring he gave me one of those smirks that say trouble. So I said sorry and went to walk off when he grabbed my arm and pulled me back and took me into the family bathroom.

"Now where do you think you're going darling."

The voice was angelic but now I was annoyed so I gave him my best badass look. "I was just leaving so if you don't mind I would appreciate it if you moved out of the way." Instead of moving out of the way he just started laughing. "Aren't you a firecracker", then he looked me straight in my eyes, "you will stand there and will not scream. You will come with me to my car." I looked at him like he was crazy.

"As tempting as that sounds I think that I will leave by myself", I told him as I ripped my arm out of his grip and walked out to my 2016 Chevrolet Corvette. As I was driving to my new house I had one thing on my mind and it was who was that stranger.

Chapter 3

I was walking through the airport looking for my next meal when a girl who looked about 17 with blonde hair and big brown eyes ran into me and fell. She would be perfect. When I bent down to help her I caught her staring. I gave her one of my most dazzling smirks but instead of blushing like every other girl does she just picked up the rest of her stuff, mumbled a sorry, and walked off but I wasn't having any of that. I

grabbed her arm and pulled her into the family bathroom and talked to her in my italian accent that all the girls fall for. "Now where do you think you're going darling." But instead of smiling she looked mad and I was surprised by her once again."I was just leaving so I would appreciate it if you moved out of the way." She was a firecracker this one. I just laughed. "Well aren't you a firecracker." Enough with this my

mom always taught me that playing with my food was rude. "You will stand here and you won't scream. You will follow me to my car." Now she looked annoyed.

"As tempting as that sounds I think I will leave by myself." I stood there stunned as she walked off. I, Grayson Reagan have met my match. On my way back all I could think of was who was that girl.

Chapter 4

As I finished moving into the house and crashed on the couch I still couldn't get that guy out of my mind. I thought maybe some sleep would help me relax but boy was I wrong.

I woke up panting and started to sob. I promised myself one thing though. Patrick will not ruin my new life. I looked at the clock which said 8:15 and decided that it was time to get up. Step one on my new life is something I will regret. Time for shopping.

Chapter 5

I took a deep breath before I decided. I am standing in between two stores, Hot Topic and The Gap. I could play it safe at go into The Gap or I could walk into Hot Topic and start on my new look. At that I made my decision and walked into Hot Topic. I walked in and was overwhelmed with everything in here. I walked over to the tops first and saw one that I actually

liked. It was dark purple with studs on the sleeve that was not too loose but not too tight. After that my confidence grew and I started grabbing random tops along with bottoms and shoes then I came across something that would top off all of my outfits, a leather jacket. I grabbed it brought everything over to the cashier who looked at me with wide eyes but I

just took out my credit card and payed for everything and decided to head to the salon. I walked in and right away someone came over to me. They asked me the question I have been waiting for.

"What do you want to do with your hair?" I was prepared for this.

"I want a change."

Chapter 6

When I got home I was in a complete daze and of course my saint of a brother Mike and his girlfriend Elizabeth are looking all lovey dovey on the couch. When I walked in they sensed something off about me but before they could ask I flopped onto the chair next to them and spilled about what happened. "I met a girl at the airport that couldn't be compelled and I am

getting really annoyed with myself because I can't get her and her firecracker attitude out of my head." Mike and Elizabeth just looked at me with an amused expression. "What do I have something on my face?"

They just laughed before Mike looked at me. "It sounds like you fancy this girl Grayson." That couldn't be true so I got up and started to leave telling them that I'm going to the mall. In a

flash I was there walking around looking at all the girls when I saw someone that I never thought I would see again but she looked different. She had black hair. She was wearing a crop top showing off her belly button piercing. She looked like her alter ego took over her. Then it hit me like a ton of bricks. She lives in the same town as me. Thinking of it just made me smirk. The town just got a lot more interesting.

Chapter 7

I walked out of the salon with my new hair, piercing, and clothes. I saw people looking at me but I refused to look down. Along with my new style I am giving myself a new attitude. After all of the shopping I was hungry so I decided to head out to the local pub which is also a perfect place to test out my new self. I pulled up to a building that said Long Island Grill. How original I said to myself. As I walked in

all eyes were on me but I just kept walking and sat in a booth. I was reading over the menu when someone sat across from me. I looked up with annoyance only to get more annoyed when I saw who it was.

"Long time no see. Seeing as you're new to town I want to apologize for my behavior at the airport and I would love to show you around here." Her response once again was something

I didn't expect. "As I told you last time we met, I think I'm good on my own." She paid for the check and just left. I looked around and saw my brother and all his friends trying hard not to laugh. I glared at them and left to go back to the house but I promised myself one thing. I will make her mine.

Chapter 8

Today is the first day of school and I need to make sure that instead of blending in I will stand out. I threw on my favorite green long sleeve shirt with gold studs on the sleeves, high waisted jean shorts, and my black combat boots. I gave myself a smoky eye and put on a little bit of lip gloss and threw my hair up in a high ponytail. Looking at myself in the mirror I

thought to myself confidence and attitude. I put a smirk on my face and drove to school. As I pulled up all eyes landed on my car. Laughing to myself I just shook my head and thought of what their faces will look like when I step out of the car. I opened the door and stepped out and I was right. Their faces are hilarious. One by one they came out of their daze and went back to

what they were doing before except for one guy who walked towards me looking at me like I was his next meal. I just scoffed and kept walking but he caught up to me.

"Hi sweet cheeks my names Jason. That was some entrance you made. Now tell me who are you?"

"Oh, little me. Well guess what.", I put myself

centimeters away from his and whispered, "Why don't you go and talk to someone else because I'm not interested." I backed up and walked away but not before I saw a group of kids laughing as if they heard the whole conversation. I just shook it off and headed to my first class.

Chapter 9

I told Grayson that I would watch the new girl and boy am I happy that I did. I just watched her shut down Justin and his facial expression was hilarious. When he glared at us it just made us laugh even more. Once we all calmed down it was already time to head to class so I said bye and walked to Spanish. When I walked in I lit up

like a kid on Christmas morning. There she was sitting in the desk right next to mine. I walked over to the desk sat down and turned to her. It was quiet for a while so I decided to introduce myself. "Hi. You must be new here. My name's Elizabeth." When she turned to me I was so happy.

"I'm Grace. Nice to meet you." I frowned after

she introduced herself because she turned away but I saw something in her eyes that I never thought I would see after having such a fun and non dangerous year. I saw pain and heartbreak. She was broken. The only other person I saw this look in was Grayson after his ex lied to him about loving him. I wanted to do something to help but I couldn't, I didn't know

who she was but I know that she needs a friend. It's time to put my plan in action.

"Hey Grace I was wondering if you wanted to sit with me and my friends during lunch."

"Sure, whynot." I let out a breath I didn't even know I was holding. Then it hit me she said yes. I had a huge smile on my face for the rest of the class period.

Chapter 10

"I was talking about the 1920's dance coming up. We have to go shopping!." My eyes widened when she mentioned dancing.

"NO!! I can not dance. I look like I'm dying when I dance." She looked so sad when I said no. I groaned. "But I guess I can go if you want
