To Ryan, my wombmate

My mom's pregnancy with both me and my brother was for the most part uneventful. Considering that she had about 20 pounds of baby inside her, once she reached 20 weeks, she lessened her workdays as a teacher and spent a lot of time in bed and eating, specifically Taco Bell bean burritos. Near the end of the third trimester, she was huge, very uncomfortable, and very ready to have me and my brother. She was very happy to have healthy twins.

I was given the name Rachel because it was a cute name that my parents really liked and didn't have any negative connotations with, like my uncle's dog Annie or a nasty girl from high school named Lindsey. My middle name was always going to be Beth, after my great-grandmother, who is easily the best person on the planet.

My mom actually wasn't in labor because she had a scheduled C-section. When I was born, I was 7 pounds, 14 ounces and 20 ½ inches long.

I was just over a year old when my first tooth came in. I walked at 16 months, and I was potty trained when I was 3. I didn't lose my first tooth until I was 7. Based on the national averages, I was just over the average weight, around the average length, and I walked a little bit later than average.
I didn't have any vision problems during my childhood. I did get glasses about 2 months into sophomore year.

Puberty is the time when peoples' bodies become mature enough for sexual reproduction. Here is a picture of me during this cringe-worthy time.

Jane got her first period and bra when she was in 4th grade. She thought it was cool to be older, but she was also embarrassed about being taller and growing up faster. Julie didn't start her period until she was 14. Although it may have been hard for her to watch her friends grow up, it was easier for her to deal with the stresses of puberty because she was older and more mature.
My first word was "ball", which was uttered right after I turned 1. I would say this when I was playing with a ball. When I was going to bed, I would often say "ni-nigh", which was probably in reference to going to sleep at night as well as my beloved Gymboree baby blankets.
I didn't have any speech impediments as a child, but I did have an adorable smile and an excellent sense of style.
