It was light everywhere.Everything glowed with an intense 

light.The source of the light was very strong but that light 

wasn't an usual one.James felt confused and scared.He 

didn't know what happen or where he was.He only knew 

some moments before he was on a dark street.It was 

night and cold.He remembered that a loud noise broke the 

silence,like the sound of a gun shot. He felt his body warm 

and then he felt a terrible pain.He closed his eyes for one 

moment and then he woke up here.This place inspired 

James trust and safeness but in the same time fear.He felt 

a very strong presence,something that was beyond 

everything,a divine presence,like an angel.Then he saw a 

strange glowing shape.The person or the thing gave a 

very strong light,stronger than the other lights.The shape 

closed to James.He vague saw some glowing hands.

-W..who arre you?asked James .Where am I and what 

happened?

-I'm not a person and this is not a place.It doesn't depend 

by time or space.said the light with a firm and warm voice 

in the same time.His voice had a strange echo.

-Am..am I dead?asked James in a desperate voice.

-Properly,you are dead but you have a choice.

-Who are you or what are you?

-Don't be afraid of me.I'm an angel.

-And what do you mean?What choice i have?

-You can choose if you want to haunt the earth or to get to 

the other side.

-So I would be a human or a ghost?

-You would be nothing more or less   than a presence,a 

ghost.A strange and dreadfully presence,something 

unclear,something inhumanly.You won't have a body.But 

I'm telling you it's not good to choose this way.

-Why not?

-Why not?

-Because you will somehow affect physically and mentally 

humans.A ghost is something terrible.And it's more an 

absence than a presence.You will be more shadow like.And 

you will never be truly happy.

-I don't want to leave the earth.I want to stay.I want to 

find out who killed me and why.I want to revenge myself! 

said James angry.

-Revenge is a dark thing.You are making a big mistake.

-I don't care.Besides,there is one more reason I would like 

to remain on earth.There is a girl,Alice.Tomorrow I would 

say to her how much I love her but now....I love her too 

much to let her go.I feel she's keeping me alive.

-If you are going to haunt her you will torture her.

-I remain on the earth,that is my final decision.I'm not 

ready to leave my life.

-Fine.You will go to the other side when you will be

prepared,when your soul will be pure.Are you sure?

-Yes.

The light vanished and James was again on the earth.

James felt a very strange emptiness,like his interior was 

just an empty space with no feelings.But he had 

feelings.He felt a terrible sadness and an unlimited 

fury.He was feeling like he will never be happy again.He 

didn't have a body,he had only dark thoughts and 

desperate feelings.If he could,he would cry.He felt a 

frightful murderous anger.Because of the person who 

killed him,a murder,he became just a simple invisible 

presence..He wanted to haunt his murderer,torture 

him,make him mad and if he could,kill him.If he knew 

who was his murderer....then a heart-breaking pain 

overwhelmed him.From now on,he was dead.He will

never hug his mother again or play football with his 

father or talk with his friends or become a writer(that 

was his dream).But one of the most painful things is 

that Alice will never know James loved her,he'll never 

kiss her,never hold her hand.Alice was one of his best 

friends,with Charlie and Derek.Alice had knew 

James,Charlie and Derek since they were only 3 years 

old.James was considered a shy and strange boy in his 

high school.Only Alice,Charlie and Derek understood 

him.Charlie was his best friend.He was very funny and 

he was always making people laugh.He had blonde hair 

and green eyes.Alice was a brunette girl with blue 

eyes.She was such a good and understanding 

person.You don't find everyday a girl like her.She was 

very modest,even if she was more beautiful than the 

other girls.When James was with her,he was always 

feeling more happy.Alice appreciated James because he 

wasn't rude like the other boys and he was very 

sincerely.Alice told James many times that his stories and 

poems will make him famous one day...but that day will 

never come.On the other side,Derek was exactly the 

opposite of James.He was the "bad boy" type.With his 

black hair disheveled,but in an attractive way,he was a 

heart-breaker.Many girls felt in love with him.His favorite 

hobbies were breaking the rules,truancy,girls and 

contradicting with James. They were often fighting,but 

always reconciling.It was an interesting friendship 

between Derek and James.Charlie and Derek were friends 

with Alice too,but she understood best with James.Alice 

had either 2 best friends:Lilly and Emily(Charlie had a 

huge crush on her).James felt an enormous depression 

that he lost everything.It was very early morning or very
