Average High Schooler
I am a high schooler
I wonder what I will do when i get out of here
I hear a bunch of roomers
I see a bunch of tired people
I want to go home
I am junior
I pretend I’m listening
I feel tired
I worry if I’m going to pass the next quiz
I cry when I have to get out of bed
I am student
I understand nothing
I say I wish I wasn’t here right now
I dream that I can get more sleep
I try not to stay up all night
I hope I don't become a McDonald fry cook
I am a high schooner
I wrote the poem the way that I did was because I wanted to wright something funny and lighthearted. I thought it would be funny if I wrote all the stereotypes of a high school student. I don’t know why everything is capitalized i didn’t do that I think it got changed with the font I used. I wrote this poem in the stanzaic structure. I also wrote this poem in a hyperbole way kinda exaggerating everything about a highschooler.

On this poem I didn’t have much freedom we had a set structure. This poem is could be read like it’s in a Continuous Structure and I think it sounds the best like that. It’s not my favorite poem because it didn’t give us much freedom its was more just fill in the blanks. The theme of the poem is more lighthearted with me making some jokes in the poem. This poem does also use a little repetition with the who in front of every sentence.
The Greater War
On May 10th 1940.
It was on May 10th 1940.
The Red hand reached.
On May 10th 1940.
The sky was darken red.
On May 10th 1940.
Death struck with lighting.
On May 10th 1940.
Men fell like confetti.
On May 10th 1940.
Towers became dust.
On May 10th 1940.
The giant shined red.
On May 10th 1940.
Rivers of red streamed down the roads.
On May 10th 1940.
Metal elephants roam the streets.
On May 10th 1940.
Seals cluster like penguins waiting for Ben.
On May 10th 1940.
Boats filled the horizon.
On May 10th 1940.
Men packed like sardines praying not meet Davy Crockett.
On May 10th 1940.
Mainland Europe has fallen.
Imitation of Federico Garcia Lorca's style in his poem "Llanto por Ignacio Sanchez Mejias."
This poem is my favorite poem I wrote. I wish i didn’t have to write the date it was pretty big give away. I wanted to keep the subject kinda hidden I could've probably of done a better job like some of the lines give it aways. This more of a traditional poetic form and also uses repetition with the date that keeps popping up.
Ghost in the trees
The sound of chirping fills the forest
A brief pause of sound as if time is frozen in place
The sound of drums fills the airs
Men in red march to the beat of the drum
They march in unison one would mistake the sound as of one of a giant
As the men in blue watched above like vultures
On their shoulders lies a rifle
So close to each other they could see the frost come out of their mouth
As one of the men shouts fire their hands began to shiver
As the bullets hiss by for a few short minute
As red men lie on this grey December.
This poem is my second favorite poem I really like the poem where we don’t need to follow a structure. This poem is about the revolutionary war where colonist are ambushing a bunch british troops. I used Onomatopoeia with the “bullets hiss by.” I also used Metaphor for the blue coats saying “men in blue watched above like vultures.” On line 8 I used a hyperbole by saying that they were so close that they see each other's breath.
Slightly annoyed
inconvenience/ˌinkənˈvēnyəns/ noun
When I wake up before noon
When I pour a bowl of cereal and I forgot to grab the milk. When my dog is laying on the blanket that I want
Having the Starbucks worker call you Kevin and not Gavin
Having to wait in line for anything
When the commercials star playing during your show
Stubbing your toe
Going to the store but mom won't let you wait in the car When the other class is blasting music and you can it
his poem I chose inconvenience because it’s just a flexible word. I didn’t use too much of anything all I used was a Continuous Structure. I just wrote about stuff that just kinda sucks in life like really pity stuff like when the Starbucks worker spells your name wrong or if your dog is on the blanket that you want. This poem wasn’t that impressive it was more of fun poem. This is one of the more less important poems.
