It all began that one day John Clements was
wandering away from camp to follow a little
river near blind man's bluff. Ha ha! That
Clements was more curious then a kitten past
lunch hour. Like they always say, curiosity kill
the cat. Well in this case, it was curiosity kill
the kid!
John was walking along a windy river in the
middle of noon day. The sun was high and
bright in the sky and little critters were
searching for dug outs to avoid the rampant
heat.

That poor old johnny kept walking for miles
until he finally came to the end of the river. it
was flowing into a large lake which seemed to
have a herd of cattle drinking from it at the
moment. He was dismayed at the sight of the
sign near the river mouth. It read: Danger!
Do not go beyond this sign! In real dark
letters too. Who ever wrote this, surely meant
for whoever saw it, to take the utterly smart
advice. What little johnny didn't know about,
was that once you went into rattlesnake
canyon, there was a high chance that you
wouldn't come out. That's exactly what lay
ahead, Rattlesnake Canyon. But johnny
disregarded the sign, and continued his
expedition.

By the time Johnny got to the entrance of
Rattlesnake Canyon, it was dusk. He was a
long ways from camp, and if he was lucky, he
could make it to camp before nightfall if he
turned around. But as we all know, he had no
intentions of turning back now.
He looked ahead and realized he had nowhere
to stay. He was about to take a nap on the
bare ground, until an young man with a real
ten gallon hat came up to him. "Hey sonny!
What are you doing all by yourself out here!"
John greeted him and then the man invited
him to sleep in the barn if he wanted.

The nice man even invited John inside his
cabin home. In his house, lived his wife Ellie,
and their small baby. "Welcome!" Ellie smiled
as she fixed up the rug on the floor as John
and the man (Who's name was Oliver) walked
inside. "Oliver where have you been!" Ellie
asked sternly. "I was out a huntin' again...still
no catch..." He replied solemnly. "Ellie this is
Johnny! Johnny meet Ellie and our newest little
bundle of joy, Wilson. John smiled as he saw
the family together, but then he became a bit
sad when he realized that he had no family.
And how he had tragically lost his family when
their wagon rolled off a cliff into ferngully
canyon.
