- Industrialization - the use of machines rather than human and animals
- Urbanization - When Agriculture revolution forced the farmers to live in the city
- Flying Shuttle - Shortened the amount of weaving a worker could do in one day
- Laissez-Faire Capitalism - the economy should be run without government inteference
- Spinning Jenny - allowed one spinner to spin 8 threads at a time
- Cotton Gin - increased the production of cotton
- Steam Engine - invented to power machines with the source of water
- Mass Production - event that lead to goods being more accessible to more people
- Cottage Industry - people that worked in their homes instead of in the factory
- Monopoly - one company controlling an entire market
- Socialism - an idea that the government should control means of production
- Communism - the idea that the lower class should overthrow the upper class
The Beginning
-Started in the city of Great Britain in the late 1700s
-The factors needed for Industrialization were: Natural Resources, Experienced Entrepreneurs, the growing population, Increasing world trade & the Economic Process
-Industrialization is the use of machines instead of humans/animals
-Agriculture issues forced farmers to live in cities, called Urbanization

The Spread
-Eventually spread to the US and other countries in Europe (like Belgium & Germany)
-It also spread to some Asian countries such as Japan
-Forced to industrialize because of the imperialistic threats happening against the country
-Caused major political, cultural and economic changes to the nations in the world
The Economic Changes
-Began with the start of inventing machines
-The textile industry was the first to be industrialized
-Woven cloth with the machines starting to do the work
-Jobs that used to be done by hand in the cottage industry were now going to be replaced by machines

The Steam Engine
-Initially, factories needed to be built by sources of water t power the machines
-Eventually, James Wattinvented the Steam Engine
-Factories began being built away from water sources, and the steam engine was powered by coal and made of iron
-Lead to the changes of transportation such as the steamboat and the locomotive
-Changes in transportation helps travel become easier and lead to trade over long distances
