Barold and his mom were going to the library! Barold loved the library. He liked to stack up the books into tall towers.

"Barold, stay in the children's section while mommy goes to find books, okay? Don't make trouble!" his mom said. Barold waved.

"Bye mommy, I will stay here and be good!"

Barold was very excited to see all the books. He started to pull them off the shelves and made a big mess. He picked the biggest ones and stacked them up to make a tower.

The librarian walked over and frowned at Barold. "I hope you plan to put those books away when you're done, young man" she said. "I will!" he lied. He knew his mommy would do it for him.

Barold looked at his tower. He thought, 'It needs to be taller!' But the only books left were on the top shelf. They were too high up for him to reach. 'What do I do now?'

Then, Barold had a great idea. 'I can get more books from the big kids' section!' he thought. He ran over there, leaving his tower, and a mess of books all over the children's section's floor.

Barold walked into the big kids' section and saw a fat cat sitting on a bookshelf. "Hello there!" He read the cat's collar. "Hi Sphero!" The cat looked at him. "You sure are a big cat!"

"Here, kitty!" Barold said. Sphero did not move. Dean sat down and patted his lap. "Come here!" Sphero closed his eyes and fell asleep. 'What a fat, lazy cat!' Barold thought.

Then, Barold remembered why he was in the big kids' section. 'I need to get books!' He started to pull all the books off the lower shelves and stack the thickest ones into a big pile for his tower.

He made a tall stack of the books he wanted, and tried to pick them up. After three tries, Barold managed to lift the whole, big pile into his small arms.

The pile was so big, Barold could not see over it. He could not see where he was going at all. He hurried towards the children's section, to find his tower, but his foot slipped on a fallen book.

BAM! Books flew everywhere and Barold fell forward, on top of them. "Ow! My nose!" He exclaimed. Sphero the cat meowed loudly, sounding angry, and ran away from the mess.
