CHARACTERS:

CHAPTER 1: THE ARRIVAL OF A STRANGER.
A stranger arrived at Woodend, a small and quiet village. The man was called Dave Slatin. He bought a house and turned it into a shop.
He got villagers' trust.
The assistant of the shop was Anna, she was a very curious girl. There was a room for Special Orders in which Anna was not allowed to enter.

THE CORNER SHOP
CHAPTER 2: THE FIRST SPECIAL CUSTOMER.
One day, an unusual customer came into the shop. She was Greta Gordon, a film star. She was asking for Mr Slatin. Both of them went to the Special Orders room.
When Greta left the room, Anna saw her crying and that she was not wearing the diamond rings she brought with her.
Miss Gordon told Anna that she was fine and made her promise not to tell anyone about her visit. It was very weird.
The following month, Greta Gordon appeared on the news, she was going to be the new main character of a film because the last protagonist had broken her arm.

I'm fine!
CHAPTER 3: BETWEEN 2 LOVERS.
Anna loved Peter, she was going to marry him. But she really liked Dave too.
When summer arrived, Dave asked Anna for a date. She agreed. They had a great day in the city! They were going to say goodbye, but suddenly he kissed her. It was a quick kiss, but for Anna, it was wonderful.
CHAPTER 4: ANOTHER UNUSUAL VISIT.
The summer passed and a new Special Customer came. He was carrying a small case and seemed to be afraid.
While he was leaving, Anna ran after him to tell him he had forgotten his case, but the young man's face was white with fear.
The following day, Anna recognized him in the TV. He was Mike Bailey, a footballer. Mike broke the opposing goalkeeper's neck in the match played that day.
Anna was frightened.

CHAPTER 5: A BROKEN WEEKEND.
Anna wanted to ask Dave about it, but she decided to wait.
One day, Dave asked Anna to go away with him to London for a weekend. She'll agree if he answered her a question: "Why do people come to see you?"-she asked. He told her that they come for help and he sells it to them. Anna did not understand, but she went with Dave to London and enjoyed the weekend.
Peter found out about the weekend with Dave and went to see Anna. Peter gave her a choice between him or Dave. Anna knew she couldn't have both of them. She was going to tell Peter about Dave's mysteries, but he got angrier and left quickly. Anna was unhappy.

You must choose, Anna.
CHAPTER 6: THE LAST SPECIAL ORDER.
Another month passed, she was waiting for another Special Customer.
One day soon, a gentleman came in. He was carrying a large briefcase. He lied Anna about his name and asked for Mr Slatin.
On the briefcase were written some letters.
Anna waited for them to come out of the room and then she asked the customer about the briefcase as she did with Mike Bailey, but there was no answer.

A.R.I.C.S.
Arthur Riseman ...?
CHAPTER 7: SOME ANSWERS.
Anna wanted to discover the meaning of the letters in the briefcase, so she decided to go to London and find out more about it.
She saw a huge advertisement with the letters. It was the name of a company! And there was a telephone number too. She rang the number and asked for Mr Riseman. To her surprise, he was the Vice Chairman of the company.
On the return to Woodend, Anna bought a newspaper. There it was! I.C.S.'s private plane crashed near London. Six people died, but luckily Mr Riseman did not take the plane and he will become the new Chairman of the company.
Anna did not sleep that night.

CHAPTER 8: MYSTERY SOLVED.
The following day, Dave left the shop. Anna was alone. It was her chance! Anna could enter to the Special Orders room because the door was not locked. She opened some boxes and discovered money from all over the world. Then she saw Mike Bailey's case and Arthur Riseman's briefcase empty. Anna found a doll with a broken arm, a torn picture of a footballer and a small broken model aeroplane. Anna did not match the connections.
A voice scared Anna. It was Dave, who left the door opened on purpose. He was asking about the diamond rings. Anna did not answer, she just listened and watched. Dave showed the rings, and he started to explain everything: those valuable things were given to him in exchange for his work.

The doll was the actress who broke her arm, the torn picture was the goalkeeper who broke his neck, and the model aeroplane was the private plane of I.C.S. which crashed.
Then Dave said he need her and asked Anna to marry him. Although Anna was frightened she smiled and moved closer. He smiled too and held her hand. He admitted he was not a normal man, he had strange powers. Anna did not mind much and kissed him again, but this time it was longer.
Anna wanted to move far away from Woodend. They took all the money and went to the airport. They did not care about clothes, food or hotels. They were rich!
They decided to go to Spain to start a new life together.

EPILOGUE
They bought a house in the South of Spain.
They are very happy and love each other.
They show what they feel every day and go on holidays often.
Anna asked Dave to stop using his powers for evil. Dave now helps people in need.
They travel to Africa once a week and Dave cleans up some of the water and turns some of the sand into food. Anna brings clothes for African children.
They are thinking of adopting an orphan child. Perhaps in the near future, because right now they want to enjoy their time together as a couple.
