CHAPTER 1
Marley's ghost
Jacob Marley was seven years dead. Marley and Scrooge had been partners in London for many years. Marley and Scrooge were both evil. When Marley died Scrooge continued to work alone. The only thing on his mind was earning money. Scrooge was an old, evil, and selfish man who lived alone and was feared by all. He supervised his clerk, Bob Cratchit, to see if he was working or slacking off. Bob spent his days in a tiny dark room that was his office, where it was very cold, so he had to wear a white scarf. Scrooge's nephew Fred showed up at the office and wished him a Merry Christmas, but Scrooge replied sharply: 'Christmas is humbug!' Scrooge said he lived in a world of stupid people, just like his nephew. He saw Christmas as a waste of time and a great expense.
He believed that those who wish Christmas could cut their tongues off. On the contrary, his nephew loved Christmas. He tried to arrange him from the thought that Christmas was pointless, but to no avail. He also invited him to dinner, but he got it too. The nephew leaves the office sadly greeting only clerk Bob. Two large gentlemen in jackets enter the office carrying papers with them. They came with the intention of asking Mr. Scrooge to donate money to the poor, however, Scrooge refuses to donate and drives them out of the office. Scrooge asks Bob if he wants a day off, and Bob of course asks for a day off to spend with his family. With all the objections, Scrooge grants him a day off. Scrooge lived in a lonely neighborhood in the house where his partner once lived.
He was traveling home through a thick fog and when he arrived at the door instead of a knocker it was not a knocker but the face of Jacob Marley. Scrooge lived in a lonely neighborhood in the house where his partner once lived. He was traveling home through a thick fog and when he arrived at the door instead of a knocker it was not a knocker but the face of Jacob Marley. Scrooge had not thought of his partner since his death until he was mentioned to the gentleman in the office. The face disappeared and the knocker was a knocker again and he was scared anyway, but he didn't show it. After he entered the house he checked to see if anyone else had entered. Darkness was cheap, and Scrooge liked it. He went upstairs and inspected every nook and cranny, but no one was there.

The fireplace was old, with a hundred pictures on tiles around the fire. But Scrooge could only see Marley's face on every tile. At the end of the room he saw a bell that suddenly began to ring very loudly, also all the bells in the house rang. Suddenly every bell stopped and only a sound was heard downstairs. It sounded like someone was pulling heavy chains across the floor. The door slammed and the sound of chains began to rise the stairs. Suddenly the door to Scrooge's closed room opened and Marley's ghost appeared in front of him. Around his waist, the ghost wore a chain with moneyboxes, keys, bank books and heavy purses. The ghost stared at Scrooge, and he questioned him about who he was and what he was looking for. The ghost replied that he had been his partner Marley for the life.
Scrooge did not believe in ghosts, and not long after that the ghost wept and fluttered the chains. Scrooge burst into tears and said he understood and that ghosts really did exist. A soul that has not helped other people through life must constantly travel through the dead. We have to carry the chains we have created through life. The spirit has no peace because he was a bad person in life. Now he regrets not caring about other people. A ghost appeared to warn Scrooge not to do the same. He told him that three spirits would visit him. The ghost went out the window, and Scrooge approached the window and saw ghosts with chains in the sky. Frightened, he went to bed.

CHAPTER 2
The first of three spirits
When Scrooge woke up he heard church bells and wondered if he woke up at noon, but the room was completely dark. He went to the window, but there was no one on the dark street. He lay down, but could not sleep because he was thinking of a ghost. At one o'clock the first ghost visited him. The spirit was a creature half a child half an old man. Scrooge asked him who he was and what he asked of him. The spirit answered in a sweet and quiet voice; "I am the ghost of Christmas Past." The ghost took Scrooge by the hand and invited him to go with him, and Scrooge eventually accepted. They appeared at a country road in the middle of winter that was surrounded by fields. Scrooge looked around better and realized that was where he was born.

The ghost explained to him that these were just depictions. Scrogge was flooded with childhood memories and began to cry. The ghost took him to the office where he worked as a clerk and described how he was a good boss, Mr. Fezziwig. Scrooge asked the ghost to take him away because going back in time was too painful for him.

CHAPTER 3
The second of three spirits
When he woke up Scrooge was preparing for the arrival of the next debt. However, it was not a ghost that appeared but some strong light. Scrooge went to another room where the ghost called to him. Admittedly, Scrooge recognized the room, but the room was decorated in the Christmas spirit, the table was full of delicacies, and he saw a ghost in a green robe. The other spirit was the ghost of the Christmas Present. The ghost told Scrooge to touch his dress. Suddenly the room turned into a dark room, the dishes and the fire disappeared, they were on the street. The ghost carried with him a special torch that turned sad people into happy ones. He took Scrooge to his clerk's house. They watched Bob in his family enjoying Christmas together. Scrooge was most moved when Bob made a toast to his health.
