St. Augustine 

      The self has                                      an  immortal soul.

Which of the philosophy of the self relates to your own belief and explain how each view impact your self-understanding?

       The philosophy of the philosopher St. Augustine is the related "self "philosophy to my own belief. It relates in the following:

    1. Human has a unified body and soul. The soul is what governs and defines a man.

   2. Humankind is created in the image and likeness of God and everything created by God is good.

    3. Self is known only through knowing God.

Human has a a unified body and soul. The soul is what governs and defines a man.

          This view impacts my self-understanding in a way wherein I realized, after a brief observation and reminisces, how I acquired my self-understanding. It impacts me in way as a reminder that I achieve who I am today because of my soul. Furthermore, in my perception, the soul governs and defines a man because we can only know ourselves if we know what and who is really inside. It is not just knowing and having a feeling of who you are but  it is the overall understanding and acceptance of yourself which can be reflected from our soul.

   Humankind is created in the image and likeness of God and everything created by God is good.

I am a born again Christian and I believe that we are created in the likeness of God.  I also believe that everything created by God is good - good because all He did is amazing: it is also good because He created us as it is but, as times goes by and due to our free choice, we became corrupted and continue sinning without repentance.
