My name is Lily Snell, I am a 16 year old in high school. I go to Marjory Stoneman High School and I am in my junior year! I love pets and I have two pets of my own, their names are Honey and Minnie Mouse. They inspired me to write this book so that other kids can learn to take care of their current and future pets!

All the students walked in and went to their spots on the floor. "Welcome to Friday class, everyone! Did you all bring your pets?" asked Ms. Dovas.

"Yes!" screamed the class as loud as wild animals.

"Perfect! We are going to go around the room and tell the class our animals name and how we take care of them! Who wants to go first?" Ms. Dovas asked while looking around.

"I do! I do! I do! Ms. Dovas! Ms. Dovas! Pick me!" Diego shouted while jumping up and down like a frog.

"Okay, okay, calm down Diego. You can go first! Thank you for volunteering!" said Ms. Dovas.

Everyone sat down and gave Diego all their attention while he pulled out his frog so everyone could see.

Freddy

    Diego started, "Hi guys! This is my frog, Freddy. He is as green as grass, that is why the species is called a Green Frog. He lives in a cage in my room. In his cage, he has a big bowl of water that he spends a lot of time in, a food dish, rocks, a heating lamp, and a fake hollow tree he can sit in! My favorite thing to do with Freddy is to take him out once a day to go outside and play in the pond I made for him in my backyard! His favorite foods to eat are flies. His favorite thing to do is sleep in a shallow pool of water with the sun on his back! It is so cute! When I hold him I am very careful no to drop him or let him jump out of my hands! I also do not wash him! He cleans himself in all the ponds he goes in. That is why I have to clean his cage every few days!"

    Everyone clapped for Diego and his frog Freddy. Diego smiled as everyone clapped and gave him prasie.

"Good job Diego! I am very proud of you! You did very well talking about how you care of Freddy. Does anyone have anything nice to say to Diego or any question? If so please say them now." Ms. Dovas said clearly.

"I do! How long do frogs live for?" asked Erica.

"They can live for about 6 years!" replied Diego enthusiastically.

"That is really cool Diego! Can I go next Ms. Dovas?" asked Erica while she check to make sure her pet was still on her shirt.

"Yes, you can Erica. Class, please give Erica and her pet all of your attention." Ms. Doves said politely.

    Everyone faced Erica and awed and aid how cute her pet was.

    Erica looked down at her bunny and then back up at the class and started, "Hi friends! This is my bunny, Bun. She is very soft and nice. She is always hungry so we always keep hay in her cage at all times. She also likes to eat fruit and veggies. When I first got her she would not come near me but now I can hold her! It took her a while to warm up to me but that is okay. I do not bathe her! She cleans herself! I have to clean her cage. I clean it 3 times a week! If I do not, my whole room smells like bunny poop! She likes to exercise with me, we go on walks around my house! We went outside one time but she had to wear a leach so I did not lose her and she did not like that! Lastly, she likes it when I brush her fur!"

    Erica let her bunny hop around so everyone could see her.

Everyone clapped for Erica and Bun.

"Settle down class. does anyone have any questions for Erica?" asked Ms. Dovas once the room got quiet.

"How long can bunnies live?" asked Bryce.

Erica responded with, "9-12 years! I am going to have this bunny for a long time!"

Ms. Dovas started talking, "Who wants to go next?" no one responded. "If no one goes I will call on someone... Okay then... Bryce, it is your turn."

Bryce whined, "I do not want to go! That is not fair!"

"It is your turn, everyone will have to go at some point." Ms. Dovas reassured him.

"Okay..." he responded softly.

    Bryce stood up slowly and his voice was trembling and quiet, "Hi guys, I do not want to be up to hear so I just want to say that my pig is named Peppa. He is as pink as cotton candy. Peppa lives on my farm in a pen with his parents, brothers, and sisters. Their pen has an inside and an outside so they can go where they want. They really like the mud and they eat any and everything you give them. It is really disgusting. Pigs do not need to be cleaned they just need food and water every day. They can live for about 8 years. My favorite thing about pigs is that when they are little, they have a little squeal that is so adorable.  Although he can be messy, he is still super cute and loves to cuddle! That is my favorite part about him!"

"Good job Bryce, I know that was hard for you." Ms. Dovas said to Bryce.

"It was," Bryce said quietly.

"Bryce, how big can pigs get?" Lizzy asked.

"It depends on the kind of pig you get some stay little while others can get super big!" Bryce replied quickly.

"Do you enter your pigs into the state far?" Lizzy asked Bryce.

"No, I think those are mean and not good for the animal," Bryce said and turn around so no one would ask more questions.

"Does anyone want to go next?" Ms. Dovas asked the class.

"I can go," said Lizzy 

"Thank you for volunteering. Everyone please be so kind and give Lizzy and her pet all your attention." Ms. Dovas replied with a huge smile on her face.

    Lizzy started to get excited and with a big smile, she said, "I have a Green Anole Lizard! He is so cute. His name is Leonardo. He is 1 right now but can live till he is 8 years old! His favorite foods are worms, grasshoppers, and flies. He also loves to hide in leaves and sunbath. I have to clean his mouth every day so he doesn't get an infection. I also have to get rid of the poop in his cage, give him food, and water every day. He really likes it when I spray his home with water for him to drink. He seems to like the water on his skin too! He does not like to be held. He would rather crawl on your clothes! I also have to make sure his lamp works because that is how he stays warm and healthy."

    Some people clapped super loud for Lizzy while others looked at her with disgust because they did not like the lizard.
